This video documents the entire process, from start to finish, of building an all-in-one compact desktop PC using a “3-piece set” (Xeon CPU, motherboard, and RAM) sourced from AliExpress. The video is two hours long in Full HD.
The CPU and memory are used parts pulled from decommissioned servers. While the Xeon CPU belongs to the Broadwell generation, the motherboard is a new, Chinese-made model that is relatively uncommon in Japan. Other components—including the CPU cooler, SSD, monitor, mouse, and keyboard—are spare parts I had in stock from previous upgrades.
Note: Since the boot-up time for Xeon systems can be quite long, the OS startup sequence has been edited for brevity.
Would like to see such Xeon rig, through the link below, in action with MSFS at some point on the net, though big caveats, as already discussed previously : the highly price of such whole solution
Not something we would find at low cost on second hand

Running MSFS 2020 on the latest Xeon processor sounds absolutely fascinating! ![]()
As you mentioned, many might say the cost of the CPU alone is unrealistic for a hobby, but there’s definitely a sense of “living the dream” there.
My recent rig project was actually a bit of a challenge: I wanted to see if I could enjoy MSFS 2020 at the lowest possible cost by repurposing retired CPUs and parts I already had on hand. ![]()
Thank you for sharing that interesting link!
