DLSS:DLAA Mode highly recommended! It’s WOW!

Yeah, i also think so, made my second flight today from LIRF to LICR, no performance issues and stunning sharpness, great!

Greets and Thanks again,
Markus

It works with both nvidia and amd cards, FSR is not limited to AMD like nvidia limits dlss to their products.
So you can use FSR even on a gtx 1060.

Just replace the .dlls in the msfs install folder and start dx12 msfs with fsr as aliasing option.

I have a 3080Ti btw

That reddit link does not work for me. Any suggestions? Also, a map to where to put it. I didn’t have any problems finding nvngx_dlss.dll.

Reddit is down right now

There u go guys, it indeed seems reddit is down.
capframex has a link to a google drive.

It’s the exact same way as replacing nvngsx_dlss.dll
just replace the fsr related files with the ones from the drive.
this will update the current 2.0 FSR to 2.1
2.2 is impossible > cuz asobo needs to add it themselves.

Any AMD users, if you’ve tried this, please let me know what you find. Thanks!

you can try it with a nvidia and intel card also @anon44786522 :+1:

Getting new RAM today so that will be a nice touch. Guess in the interim while waiting I’ll go give this a shot. Will report back.

I made a couple comparisons between TAA / DLSS Quality / DLSS DLAA / FSR 2.1
You can check for overall sharpness, fuzziness of displays, textures quality, aliasing etc.
I’ll start with a few screenshots within the A32NX.
Everything is taken on a native 3840x2160 [4K] Display at ultra quality.

here are some comparisons within the cockpit :
Right click the image and open in new window to see full resolution!

TAA:

DLSS Quality:

DLSS DLAA:

FSR 2.1:

Here are a couple videos for you to check ghosting differences on each method.
Testing method:

I set baro to 1084 on all examples and pressed B for altimeter correction.
I also limited my fps to 60 on all examples so it’s a fair comparison.
I also set glass cockpit refresh to high on all examples.

DLSS DLAA:

FSR 2.1

And some scenery shots at 4k ultra with LOD400 comparisons in the same setting, same time :

What’s the directory? Checked Onestore and just see folders.

as i installed it through the windows xbox app my install location is :

C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Content

yours might be different if you are on steam or still have the old ms store install method.

Initial findings. Frames seem a lot more consistent. Have my frames locked to 60. Tried my native setting and one notch lower. The lower setting seemed to give the best FPS. Native was about a half to 1-2 FPS lower.
Just want to verify I have things set correctly. I found that performance works best and gets rid of the shimmering. But even after this change I noticed the ghosting with the MCP panel and the lights extinguishing and turning on still have a fade to them.
You can see that 1920x1080 is my native.

These are my options in MSFS

This is what I had it set to

Is that all correct? Should I be using 1760x990 or my native?

No always use your native resolution.
Fsr and dlss at each quality setting is a lower resolution it upscales back to your native res in your case 1920x1080

Let me go back and look through each setting at 1920x1080. I use the PMDG/152 as my test aircraft.

Quality: No shimmering in the 737 and the ghosting is pretty much almost gone.
Balanced: Still no shimmering but the ghosting is more apparent.
Performance: No shimmering and ghosting is 50/50 with sometimes looking better and sometimes worse
Ultra Performance: Very very slight waving and ghosting is the worst.
FPS average of mid to upper 50’s, capped at 60.

I do like that side from ultra performance the shimmering has been pretty much removed on all other options. That’s an improvement/benefit. Quality wise, quality makes sense. The FPS gain between balanced and performance just didn’t seem to be there. So I’ll stick with this for me. Thanks again for all your advice/help.
