Does MSFS2024 actually work for anyone?

Updates to 2020 could have easily added all the features you like (or see potential in). This was a cash cow, released in a state known to be shoddy. Thats why there was no pre-release reviews. They had to butter up some desperate Youtube personalities for that. And that bunch are shameful.

Wait is this real or am I falling for a joke?

They basically blocked whole Europe. What a mess. Such a bad look on Azure

Nope. Netherlands here. Game works every single time i get in for a play. Xbox series X. Better yet, it works very fast. Takes just a few seconds to get in game.

Interestingly enough, Jayz2c’s review from yesterday (who coincidentally claims to be flying MSFS since the early 80s) said he barely saw a meaningful difference between 2020 and 2024 even in those rare times where the sim was working relatively OK:

According to the above review, putting the 2 sims aside one would find it hard to consider 2024 anything more than a minor update of 2020.

Yes, I know about the advertised features of 2024 which in theory explain why Asobo asks for $80-200 but at this point I doubt anyone has seen any of these at all (much less confirmed that they work as promised).

ps: yes, I know, ā€œanimalsā€.

pps: I don’t really care about career or medivac missions (all of which will most likely grow very boring very quick), I already use apps such OnAir, NeoFly and so on.

That’s demonstrably false. There are lots of folks flying and posting pics and vides of the low-level scenery and terrain improvements. Personally I’ve had my 2020 Marketplace streaming content load in dynamically, and have it look and perform great, etc.

So I changed the topic of this thread with the advice to ask for a refund. There is hardly an aircraft without bugs, the sim is technically not ready, and we need to make a statement that this is NOT OK.

I’m upset because being able to scale infrastructure to meet demand is exactly what Microsoft say they are good at. And dealing with them is part of my day job. If I had failed so spectacularly I would be either looking for a new job or desperately finding a way to blame someone else.

lol… I would not take any so-called influencer to dictate my experience. I will make my own judgments.

Use the xbox game bar for nice screenshots.

PC here. Actually two separate PC’s I play on:

  1. i7-12700K/RTX 3070Ti/64GB DDR4 RAM/4TB SSD
  2. i9-14900KF/RTX 4070Ti Super/64GB DDR5/4TB SSD

Both are running the game at 120+ FPS and no graphics glitches so far at 1440p.

I’ve gone through all of the Career mode training for PPL and am working through the Commercial Pilot training now.

No bugs, no crashes and my hardware has been fully recognized. I also have two HOTAS setups for the two systems:

Main: Turtle Beach Velocity One Flightdeck
Secondary: Logitec X52 Pro

I run Windows 11 Pro on both machines.

Incorrect. I’ve run much of the game so far and can confirm it is working fine. I posted elsewhere that on two different systems I’m getting 120+fps with no crashes or visual bugs.

Today, I could start my career, made it up to my ppl license, and did my first passenger flight. There are some little bugs, but it is playable for me. I enjoyed it today!

And i still cant get the 97% completet bs loading bar… and many others too… and no its not my internet connection, not my system… cause EVERYTHING else works fine including MS Flight Sim 2020.

I had a refund for the £129.99 I paid, as I was so frustrated and annoyed on day one. Discovered then I could have the standard edition on my Game Pass subscription - so did that. Three days in it seems to be working.

I’m used to MSFS2020 and the toolbar across the top of the screen when you push down on the one stick. From there I’d engage autopilot, change weather and so on, skip to approach…how the hell do I do these things in 2024?? There is is no toolbar menu at all!! Surely to goodness. Cursor control is shocking on the welcome page, so much so I’ve just bought a mouse to try on my Xbox…

…anyone got any advice for me pleasE?? Thanks in advance!!

My refund was refused

But you know you’re probably the lucky exception right?

It worked 2 hours yesterday for me since then i cant get past 97%. But i admit even with my old i7 9700k paired with a 4070 Ti i got solid 60 fps mostly and nice visuals here and there on Ultra.

I just have nothing from it if i cant login even to the menus almost all the time.

Not even close… The sim works for many players not just a lucky few
