Nice, I’ll look around then. Because up until now 99% of the screenshots I’ve seen are FS2000 quality and below.
Yes, it works very well for me ![]()
Right, this might explain the raving reviews in Youtube, Steam, Reddit and everywhere else.
1st day on queue (nothing i could do).
2º day no more queue but crashing my PC on the profile creation. Gave up on PC and installed on xbox one x. ran with very bad graphics (treess looked like pixels) for 15 min without crashing. Gave a new chance on the PC and it stopped crashing the PC and just crashes the game (i believe it retrieves the profile created on the xbox) with Faulting application name: FlightSimulator2024.exe, version: 1.1.7.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
please update the game
seriously? Oh boy…
If I remember correctly to bring up the toolbar you hold right bumper and click in the left stick.
The toolbar seems to have most things from 2020 plus now this is where you access replay mode.
“Well, you don’t know what we can find; Why don’t you come with me, little girl
On a magic carpet ride”
and now in the game I have a visible cursor arrow and the game does not respond to the keyboard/Logitech X52…
not counting the fact that the first time the flight does not load…
EDIT:
unplug/plugin X52 helps.
Try again. They asked for more details but approved mine.
Perhaps I’m one of the lucky few too as just had my first flawless experience (I’ve been getting in most times up to this point but was getting a lot of low bandwidth messages and key details not streaming in).
In the last 2 hours this was not the case. Everything streamed in beautifully. I got to see what this new sim is really capable of and in my view it is a massive upgrade. It ran buttery smooth and looked incredible. I’m on PC (i9 14900k / RTX 4080 DLSS Quality / 900Mbps)
Context - I fly GA low and slow back country style flying. I can’t speak for flying tubeliners. I guess maybe at 37,000 ft it won’t seem that different to 2020. But if you are looking for great countryside scenery, improved cliffs, vegetation, animals, seasonal effects and hugely improved lighting then when this sim works oh boy it works well. Credit where credit is due.
Obviously the launch has been riddled with issues, mainly it seems caused by lack of server provision. Hopefully my experience just now indicates MS are indeed making improvements here, and hopefully others will get to see what I have very soon.
Some screenshots from my flight around beautiful Wyoming just now to show I’m not dreaming! ![]()
Real I think. Screen shot from a youtube video posted here - and I’ve seen other videos with the same Avatar:
For the red error avatar to appear, someone had to create it and then include the logic for it to appear. I assume it has to do with choosing how your pilot avatar looks, and is somehow not receiving the model or textures, so it displays the error avatar as a placeholder.
I actually find most MSFS visual errors to be sureal like Salvador Dali paintings. Wish I had kept screenshots over the years, would be a cool collection.
I found a solution for me… Dont use the planes wich comes with MSFS24… take your old planes from 2020 to your MSFS24 Community Folder… this save alot of bandwith… than you should be abel to fly:
No technical issues for me in the past two days! Sim is running smoothly, no crashes or such issues.
I uninstalled MSFS 2020 today, loved it for the past 4 years, but I can’t go back now, there’s so many improvements in 2024 that I would miss in 2020!
I was able to play for a few hours last night when the server congestion was low. It worked well. I think the performance issues and errors people are experiencing are mostly due to server load and after a few more days, these will be gone.
But there are lots of small bugs and missing features for sure. I added some 2020 aircraft to the Community folder and some have some fairly major shortcomings. There will need to be a lot of updating of older addons to have decent compatibility.
I did some free flights and many of the career flight training missions and there are noticeable improvements over 2020. The lighting and environment, especially the vegetation, mountain texture projection and ground details are much nicer.
I am still working on finding the right graphics settings for the target framerate I want. And the control configuration will take some time to get right. But that’s ok. This is a sim I will use for a long time so I don’t care so much that the first week or so is not perfect.
More than 55 hours into the launch, the performance and graphics disaster on Xbox remains exactly the same… adding that the peripherals do not work and that it is impossible to use the free view with the mouse because it totally drives the camera crazy
And the most serious thing, there is no expectation of a solution…
Refund +1
Back to 2020.

No… it’s Microsoft’s problem, I pay for the same price and I must receive the same product, which finally happened with 2020 that not only went well on the Xbox, but even better than on PC (which I could verify even using all the peripherals)
And I payed money to have a better platform than a console because I wanted games to run better than than they do on console. Low and behold, I got my moneys worth and every game I have ever played on PC runs better than on consoles. I have around 10 hours in FS24 and haven’t had any notable issues that would prevent me from playing the game and enjoying it.
Good for you. Now open your eyes please and see you are in a rather unique situation and a lot more people have problems with the servers - be it on PC or xBox.
There is absolutely no need to be rude or condescending to a fellow simmer
