Ooooh, I’d gotten out of the habit of checking SimMarket since their plane releases for FS2024 had really quieted.
This one’s quite reasonable at 15 Euros. Tempting… Love me some analog cockpit STOL planes.
Oooh, these guys did the HA-200. That one is nice. It’s only FS2020, but they mention 2024 features pending future implementation. (They never updated the HA-200, but it was pretty solid.)
I’ll be super straight to the point: It’s rough around the edges, but boy do I like it. No one part of it is perfect, there’s some wonk for sure, but it’s one of those addons that just “clicks” and when it does, the price tag evaporates. I’m sure others will be more critical, there are some small bugs in FS2024, some “I just learned how to make cylinders in blender” modeling in spots, but I don’t know… I’m charmed.
There are some videos on their YouTube page if you’re interested in seeing more…
@Stardrifter2232, did you find any documentation? I bought it but haven’t had time to fly it yet. The Simmarket page says there’s a manual, but didn’t see any PDFs in the any of the aircraft folders.
I did find however that the starter circuit breaker logic is reversed on most if not all variants, so if you or anyone else runs into any issues starting C&D, that might be it.
Been flying it for the last couple of hours. Modeling is really nice overall; the rivets are bit Lindberg models, but otherwise it looks great.
Quick look at things I like:
Good audio
Nice vibrations in the cockpit and instrument needles. Feels real, without being overdone.
Four models: Base, skis, tundra/STOL, and floats
Important: Flight modeling feels good! Good period STOL performance, overall handling feels realistic.
Engine damage modeling seems well done. I abused it and paid for it after ignoring the blinking warning light.
Lots of liveries, especially the base model. Both civilian and multiple air forces (Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Portugal, etc.)
Nice notebook for configuring ground accessories and passengers/cargo (see translation in previous message).
SimMarket, so no Marketplace encryption to deal with if you want to tweak, make liveries, etc.
Price is nice.
Really minor Issues:
When I first loaded it in FS2024, the doors were all missing. Thought it was because I was in the STOL/bush version. Once I put them back with the release switches, they stayed.
The manual was accidentally omitted. I emailed the support email and had it from the dev in just a couple of hours. I imagine this will get fixed quickly.
I could definitely ask for a few minor tweaks, such as better-than-default float spray effects. But overall, for 15 Euros, this is a really, really nice package. And it’s really fun and interesting to fly.
Got this little beauty today. Few small bugs as mentioned. Some of the gauges are a bit blurry and the external view is offset wrong but a really nice aircraft. Well worth the €15!
Just downloaded her and I have noticed a few problems with her , the most obvious being no joystick or rudder movement in cockpit view. Once off the ground she does fly lovely but no views of any control surfaces reacting to input in external view.
Also the download files for both 2020 and 2024 seem to be the same file apart from the 2024 file saying it`s MSFS2024 compatible.
The manual is now up in the SimMarket downloads for purchasers.
@simbowales, you need to remove the big yellow control lock from behind the stick.
The repeated downloads are just how SimMarket does things. There’s only a 2020 version, but they provide a second set of copies for 2024 users since it’s compatible with both.
