msfs-2024 The EFB on the xbox controller is not working. Is this a bug? When will this be fixed? It is really ridiculous to use a mouse on the console just to use the EFB.

Depends on what you mean by ā€œnot working.ā€ Here are two bug reports. Do either of them match your situation?

Same problem here. With SU 2 you canā€™t select anything on the EFB tablet. Completely unusable.

Yep this is a known bug and still present in 1.5.2.0 Sim Update 3 beta. There are two workarounds that may or may not be options for you:

  • Stick to aircraft (like the Asobo Cessna 172) that have the EFB modeled in the virtual cockpit, as the controller cursor will work on the EFB screen in that context
  • Use a USB mouse as a traditional mouse cursor can interact with the EFB in all states (popout or virtual cockpit) even on Xbox

Sorry for posting in the wrong Hub. If I open the EFB, my Xbox controller does not respond to any input on the EFB? The cursor highlights the selected option, but when I press the ā€˜Aā€™ button, nothing happens?

This has been a known issue since the beta phase of SU2 - there are three workarounds:

  • Use the EFB modeled in the cockpit rather than the one from the toolbar
  • Use a mouse
  • Change your controller ā€œGeneral controlsā€ preset back to the standard 2024 Transversal default profile.

Thank you, I now use a USB mouse to interact with the EFB, but it is ridicules to play the sim with the Xbox controller and a mouse? Hope this gets fixed soon, because the EFB is such a fundamental part of the game.

I wouldnā€™t say itā€™s ridiculous - many users do just that. Xbox controller for flight controls, mouse for interacting with EFB/virtual cockpit, and even throw in keyboard for additional keybinds.

I would agree itā€™s ridiculous that this bug still exists, but thatā€™s another matter.

If youā€™d like to only use Xbox controller, try reverting the General Controls preset back to the 2024 default.

Thanks for your reply. I know there are users that use the mouse for EFB/Virtual cockpit, but players should have that choice and not everyone is playing at a desk in order to use a mouse. For me personally itā€™s uncomfortable on the couch and I donā€™t want to use 2 devices to play the game. It was working fine with the Xbox controller before the SU2 update. So this is definitely a bug. I will reset the controls to default and see if it works. Thank you.

What a joke. In su1 it works in su2 beta not. Why not fix it? Of course I could use a mouse, of course I could switch to PC or just fly in reallife.

Why you guys suggest everything like itā€™s the players fault?

2024 is still a mess. Those little Problems sum up pretty fast.

There must be lots of arrogance putting out such a product and after 7 month itā€™s still filled with bugs. I want such a boss really. Hey boss we screwed up-> no problems the stupid customers buys it anyways, 7 month later ā†’ hey boss the sim is still ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  ā†’ no problem you know our customerā€¦

Why not label the sim as Beta in general ? Open beta. What we witness is the new way of coding: live with the hot needle but asking for money.

Only Microsoft can afford to behave like that and not get broke and kicled

Short Time to final SU-3 and with the last Beta the EFB still does not work on XBox with Controller! The Beta works very well on XBox but why they do not fix it?:persevering_face:

As has been explained several times in this thread the issue is resolved by using the default 2024 Transversal Gamepad preset for General controls or creating a new custom preset based on that default preset.

The real answer is that there a lot of hotkeys that cannot be set from the gameā€™s user interface, you instead have to export to an XML file, then add/edit the following binding:

Different problem but with the EFB on Xbox X the ā– ā– ā– ā–  thing keeps popping up on its own without any input from me and when itā€™s on the screen it stops any input until it goes on its own

Any ideas whatā€™s causing this, it only started after last update. Worked fine until then it all worked fine still does but just keeps popping up on its own.
