ERROR Crash: msfs error: dxgi_error_device_hung (0x887a0006)

We have seen this issue with user who have Radeon Vega GPU. The dev teams are investigating this issue.

We can only ask you to try different GPU drivers to see if one of them would resolve the issue. You might need to try multiple different versions.

Beyond this, we have no troubleshooting steps for this issue. We will be releasing new update to the sim soon and if the issue persists after testing out different GPU drivers, we can only ask you to wait for the update to go live and try again.

Which drivers have you tried before? So i am not gonna try them. Ive heard that setting XMP profiles to disabled works. It helped My GPU UTIL to be around 10-20% instead of 80-100%. But didnt help for the 0x887a0006 problem.

For those with a Radeon Vii 20Vega im telling you what ive done so you dont have to go through all this. (Im trying to install the game since day one but always get error code 0x887a0006 between 57% and 68%.

Ive tried:

1.The regeedit method with TdrDelay and level with multiple values
2. Undervolting GPU in AMD app
3. Rolling back drivers
4. Downloading new BIOS driver
5. Uninstalling and reinstalling game (+reinstalling in another path
6. Repairing game in the Xbox settings
7. Disabling XMP Profiles in BIOS
8. Installing latest windows update
9. In AMD app > Tuning > Custom > Max. Fps to 90FPS and least 60
10. Installing the newest GPU driver multiple times and used DDU for clear remove of the old ones.
11. Wanted to try on DIRECTX 11 but windows didnt let me.

Specs:

OS VERSION: Windows 10pro
DIRECT X version: DX12 (12_1)
CDU: Ryzen 5 2600
GPU: AMD Radeon VII (Driver 24.9.1)
VRAM: 16GB
RAM: 32GB

I wouldn’t say it’s only for Vega cards, I have 7900XT and 5800X3D, and experiencing crashes and same error messages as OP posted. As I understand, we need to either wait for Asobo to roll out a patch, or AMD to roll out November drivers finally.

Same here. Using 7900XT and it crashes all the time (while did couple torture tests to validate card and it passed), so at this point we either need to wait for Asdobo to fix the game, or AMD to roll out November drivers finally

I have the same problem with VEGA 56 GPU. Decided to refund the game until a fix is confirmed.

I´ve got the same answer…

I also have the same issue, even made a complete reinstall of windows but it havent fixed it… so i guess its just an error on them. I guess will have to wait and eventually refund if they dont fix it.

It’s not even only on AMD cards, my nVidia 4060Ti (16GB) is perfectly capable of crashing with that same error code.

come on now guys its the games problem nothing else, FFS i still haven’t even seen the main menu… patch the F****ing problem…

I downloaded it on day one and havent seen anything except the loading screen until max. 68%. I gave up on trying until a new update or driver is out. Honestlyi bought gamepass only for 2024 but for what? Loading screen isnt worth the 11,99€. Ngl!

For some reason it started working properly yesterday for me, spent 3 hours with zero crashes. Was there some update?

Same problem with RTX4090 here, but i use the 552.44 Driver, because all other Drivers let all Applications instantly crash, so i think i have a faulty Intel I9 13900K CPU.

What was it about the update? They said something about fixing accessing issues and CTDs. Theres no update available though. Ive tried everything! EVERYTHING! But i still havent seen the main menu. I mean, did anyone get a message or anything else helpful? If so, please let us know.

Did anybody did figured this out? Is it something from the last update? Worked fine before!!
