hi there, my internet connection is pretty stable, but when I play MSF, 2 or 3 times per session I have small disconnections, each of them during 2-3 seconds. It’s only with MSFS so I suspected some kind of energy consumption problem: I went to ethernet controler propriety and disabled “allow to shut down to save energy”. I also updated ethernet drivers but It didn’t work.
It’s frustrating because as I said each interuption is only a couple of seconds, but the resulting window in the simulator saying no internet connection, with loss of control of the airplane until I check “ok” tab are really anoying.
Thanks for helping.
Are you using wifi or a hard wired connection? I would first check your router to make sure everything is properly configured and optimized. My opinion is that more than 50% of internet problems are injected within the users home network.
I’m wired and it’s been dropping all day.
there are some topics about “connection lost” , “low bandwith” , etc…
Eg.
May be its currently not your PC. Or did you see real errors in event log, e.g. like “link lost” or something else ? In some cases it can still be an issue with your PC, ISP, etc… but may be check the mentioned topic , not that you change to much on your pc
PS:
for this exists a wish to change that behavior
… ah … I see… you know that wish already…
thanks for answers, several days have passed and it seems to be my PC. Ethernet disconnect from time to time, even if I’m not on MSFS. I have to run windows troubleshooter, it finds the error saying “missing default bridge” and the connection is ok again, until the next disconnection…
hello friends
just a small update to tell you my problem is solved, sort of.
I put my ethernet controller speed duplex to 1gb full duplex and voila, almost no disconnections. it seems to do the trick, fingfers crossed.
