The forced turbulence in career mode is far too aggressive for smaller aircraft. Because career mode is a single-player experience, developers should provide an option to adjust the intensity so players can enjoy the game their own way without impacting others.
If you find the Caravan too unstable, focus on VIP missions to upgrade to the PC24 as quickly as possible. It handles much better in rough weather and is less prone to being tossed around. Using auto-rudder is also a helpful way to avoid landing crashes in lighter planes like the Cessna, and you can simply turn it off once you move up to larger jets.
Just crashed today with a cirrus on VIP mission trying to grind for the Pilatus.
The exact same thing happened, huge winds very close to the ground made it dive, I was 200ft above the runway.
Itās way less frequent and less strong with the cirrus, but I was secretly hoping that missions not taken on live weather would not have this issue.
With the cirrus, itās uncommon enough for me to grind money. Iām not a pilot and Iām pretty unsure this should really happen this way with those winds IRL but I somehow doubt it is THIS strong.
Link here shows itās still happening - check end of video for landing footage . Tailwind landing in fog, felt like i got sideswiped by wake turbulence⦠only there was no a/c taking off.
I donāt run any custom weather presets and I still got the bug. Its been two weeks and many flights since I experienced it and I havenāt gotten it again. Wonder if it has been fixed.
The feedback was logged but is Asobo aware of this?
After SU4 it remais the same over here, tried 2 flights in europe with the fenix a320 and both had the exact problem on short final, winds suddenly picking up to speeds like 45 ad 60kts.
I have to say, this bug is preventing me from enjoying this hobbie⦠every flight seems to present this issue and i cant find anything on any forum that could suggest a workaround or soruce for the problem⦠my original post is from June last year and it keeps happening⦠so sad⦠i just want to fly.
Hello Jum how are you?
Do we have any updates on this issue?
I tried flights on SU4 and the same problems keeps happening, its really killing the game for me and lots of other simmers. Its been 6 months.
The problem I described here in the OP does not get resolved changing the turbulence setting.
Tried on low, mid and realistic and none of them addressed this bug.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OPās steps to reproduce it?

Still happening after SU4, really frustrating trying to do heli rescue missions with this happening, had a mission that started off with 20kt winds and thought ok Iāll see what its like with high winds to startā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦..98kt when Im trying to touch down and its like im getting slapped around in every direction, blown straight into the mountain. Now i know that downdrafts in really life can do the same but realistically when the hell would a smart pilot take off in some of the carrer conditions IRL? Answers never because there smart. I could understand having to avoid weather by redirect or something. Because thats what you do IRL in small aircraft especially when flying VFR.
Something is definitely wrong with the weather all together in career, clouds pop in and out and Iāve noticed rapid wind changes then as well.
This is also only in carrer, and some of the planes and helis donāt respond the same for carrer to free flight. Helis especially.
This stuff ruined a 2h-flight for me today. Approached BGGH (Nuuk) runway 22. Real weather, 15-20 knots of headwind. Stable approach. At around 200 feet the aircraft was literally sucked into the ground, never experienced something like that. Repeated the approach multiple times with multiple aircraft - always the same. A few meters from touchdown you loose 30 knots or so in the split of a second and the aircraft falls down like a stone. Even if you know it beforehand, add 10 knots to the approach speed and push the throttles into TOGA like a champ, the time to spool up is way to long, no way to recover.
No idea what this is, a sudden wind change, a strange downdraft or some kind of wind shear.
With turbulence-settings to medium it feels manageable (a fluctuation of around +/- 10 knots).
Itās still happening in Jan 2026. Iām flying the Fenix A320 and I get an unrealistically annoying crosswind of about 30-40 knots at 200 feet AGL. It ruins the entire experience, knowing that itās likely to happen after efery flight.
Iām flying with live weather, heading into an area with turbulent weather.
Turbulence setting is too excessive when set to Realistic.
Low is not fun.
Medium is just right.
Wake turbulence is excessive. Turning it off is preferable.
The crazy cross winds are one thing but all the random and from all direction huge gust of winds make a C208 un-landable.
I was coming in on YWLG 05 and I was literally flying in a full crab so aborted landing.
I was lucky the airport had another runway that was almost straight into the wind the erratic gust when I got to about 100 feet of the runway smacked me right into the ground.
I am persistent but that was my 3rd different airport with the massive erratic winds.
With the Pilatus PC-12ās broken GPS, and these insane winds are nothing I have ever experienced in a sim and been simming since FS 98 with a lot of hours in Combat Flight Simulator.
Never been frustrated until today hope it is a glitch they will patch.
Happens to me every single flight in PMDG 738. To the point where ILS landings are moot, because the aircraft wobbles and swings so much on the roll axis that it constantly veers off the runway line even with winds as low as 10kt (reported in aircraftās display, not sure about actual value) and cannot stabilize. I have to assume manual control at 1000AGL or earlier.
In official PMDG forums they suggested to turn off wake turbulence as itās messed up after SU4. Havenāt tried this yet but I definitely will.
