Okay, I’ll need to practice more
Thank you

We all do. No two landings will be the same, but the more reps you get, the cleaner they’ll be. I’m sure we’ve all had some on the sim we’re far from proud of. Many of us have felt some nasty ones in real life on various aircraft. You’ll get it. Good luck!

Practice is allways a good idea.
What has always helped me in the past was to open the airbrakes on the final approach.
You then have to work with the throttle against the brake.
The aircraft then reacts much faster to changes in thrust and it becomes easier to maintain a constant speed (e.g. 150 ktas).

If you have time to set up a planned approach, you could also use the autothrottle to maintain a constant approach speed, or even do a full ILS approach and landing.

Heck, one good way to practice is just program the ILS frequency for the landing runway at the airport you’re flying from. Do touch-and-go circuits around the field and practice maintaining your approach course and following the glideslope while managing your speed manually all the way down. This is MUCH easier if you have a decent HOTAS setup so you can tweak the throttle as necessary all the way down. If you’re not very good at landings, go into your sim settings and disable crash damage but use an app like Volanta to measure your touchdown performance until you are satisfied. To minimize embarrassment, feel free to disable multi-player - no shame in that at all. It’s what I’m doing this week to try to master landing the FlyingIron Spitfire - taildraggers, man! I can’t even takeoff half the time. :stuck_out_tongue:

But anyway, yeah - just practice, practice and practice some more.

No joke

Dean, could you please tell me which file is for the cockpit glass tint ?
I’d like to edit it a bit
Thank you

There isn’t one I’m afraid, it’s in the material settings which probably cannot be altered. In a future update, I will add a texture for the purpose.

After your post I gave it some thought and agree. Wouldn’t be cool to drop a fuel tank over a city. Maybe, well, I won’t name that city lol

Missile run down the Menai Straits in north Wales, I absolutely love this aircraft and pretty much every other plane in my hangar is now redundant

I’m confused. This aircraft has been available for almost a month now on PC. How long does it take for these to get dropped into the console Marketplace? Thought it’d only be a couple weeks. We’re pushing a month. (At least it feels like it.) Was intending to spend my holidays in this bird but there is no availability as of today 12.30.21.) Makes me very sad.

Is this a developer or MSFS issue?

MSFS issue

Unless you are on Xbox, buying through the Marketplace doesn’t make sense to me. The developers deliver products directly, with more options, and sometimes discounts. And updates are weeks or months ahead of the Marketplace.

How is the flight model for this plane? From what I understand, the cockpit doesn’t look that great, but I can overlook that as long as the plane fly somewhat realistically.,

I enjoy flying it a lot, it feels real to me, though I’ve never flown a jet fighter in real life. All the other comments I’ve seen seem to agree that it’s a realistic flight model, most of the complaints have been about the lower quality appearance, but SC is planning a major update of the F-16 graphically in January.

I am definitely going to get it then. Especially since they plan to release a graphics upgrade. I’ve been wanting a good F-16 for a long time and with MSFS level graphics this will be amazing.

Another quick question though is how do you load fuel into the plane? Do you just do it through the sim menu, or does it have an external program like the VRS Superbug?

Thanks

I use the MSFS Fuel menu, they have it set up to load fuel and non-functional weapons through that. Also, a question that arises a lot, is how to remove the (ugly) conformal tanks. Set Center 2 to 0 and they disappear.

If you pop over to the F-15 thread, Dean posted some images of his in-progress revamp of the Eagle’s cockpit. They look pretty darn fantastic. I’d expect something similar for the F-16 in the next month or so as well.

F-16 update will come a little bit later, as it’s in better shape than the Eagles. Tomcats are probably in the best shape of all of the teen jets, so their update will be more about additions and detail / extra liveries.

@NuclearLaser The flight model is bang-on the NATOPS official charts numbers throughout the flight envelope, as per all of our airplanes, so it’s as close as we can get right now within MSFS flight model system.

On PC, but I usually purchase in marketplace. I don’t want to have to keep track of updates of 20 different aircraft manually.
However, I did go ahead and purchase the F-16 from JustFlight. It’s a special plane to me.

I get emails from any of the aircraft I’ve purchased when there’s an update. I also don’t have as many aircraft, do you really fly 20 different planes regularly in MSFS? If so, then I guess it’s a matter of picking your poison, automatic updates versus getting them sooner.
