Ah lemme check! I think I forgot to switch to ARC or PLAN indeed! Will check -thanks mate!

She worked somewhat well with me. At first phase, deceleration and then upon nearing the assigned exit, she started fierce breaking after which I switched to manual.

Guess what? The dev team also works for free. Everyone involved does it for free on their own free time. FBW is a community open source project where everyone and anyone can contribute to project. This is also why you can enjoy this majestic aircraft for free.

While most devs say cams are sim limitation the F14 by Heatblur and the F35 by IndiaFoxtEcho somehow manage to display cameras inside the cockpit.

In any case if that is a difficult hack and it is native in 2024 then at this point it makes sense to just wait and have the nice taxicams in 2024 without doing a lot of work.

So - checked again - does not work. It’s funny that I can actually see the airport on the display in normal ARC or PLAN mode - just not zoomed in. If I go to Zoom it shows “not avail”… Did all you said - not working

Found this page of A380 routes (as of Aug 2024) - thought might be of interest to some of you

It didn’t work for me. I was at a constraint altitude of 9,000ft, in the middle of a managed climb on the way up to 11,000ft, and pressing the alt knob again didn’t lead to a change in my altitude at all.

Maybe I messed up somehow or that’s a feature still to come?

I will need to continue scaling things back. Despite my efforts, the next two attempts crashed to desktop while loading into KORD. Never made it to the ramp.

I am not exceeding physical resources. While RAM/VRAM usage is high, I’m not approaching my system limits. I feel it must be an interaction with other tools.

Probably next on my list is dropping in sim texture settings to high, and killing Simbridge for the foreseeable future. There are already some known issues with it on long hauls with terrain radar, although they don’t explain my crashes. Nevertheless, it’s an easy thing to drop for now.

I guess on the plus side I can add back my mild overclock on the CPU and go back to the full RAM XMP settings I had been using for a while.

That sounds like what they have said about how it works.

Maybe a stupid question, but should NSS data to avionics be turned on?

Just another guess, but is your Navigraph Charts (ultimate) authenticated/connected via the EFB. I find that the connection can mysteriously drop on some aircraft and require another ‘code’ verification to re-enable again. Just wondering if an update maybe removed the authentication or something.

This, indeed it was exactly like this. :ok_hand:

I noticed that after CTD’s, any setting changes I may have made didn’t persist. Things like my Navigraph login, light presets, etc didn’t save until I finally completed a flight. Maybe those items are only saved if you have a proper shutdown.

For anyone with performance issues, it’s worth keeping in mind that there are some liveries out there that have been labelled “4K/8K” but his may be referring to the FBW aircraft option rather than the livery file itself which may only have 8K textures. Some of these livery installs can be 1GB downloads or more 1.5GB installed. I just found an actual 4K livery that someone has created and it’s only a 38MB download, 225MB installed, now that’s more like it. I’m just saying if you are seeing performances issues don’t rule out the liveries you might be using.

I really don’t care how it’s developed, free or not, I only care for the state of the sim. Recently Aerosoft released their A330 in a terrible shape as it was supposed to be ready for shipping, now`FBW tells everyone it’s an alpha version. Who cares what they call it, and how it’s developed? At least I don’t have time investigating if basic functionality is working or not doing tester’s job, regardless if I paid for it or not. One must some basic expectations on a product.

I find that completely removing the cabin (by pressing the secret button/hotspot on the cockpit back wall) makes the biggest fps difference for me – especially when panning around the aircraft while it’s on the ground.
But I really don’t see any difference by changing liveries from 8k to 4k or vice versa.

I saw on discord that when anyone mentions poor performance externally while on the ground they nearly always mention DX12 as being the issue. They recommend we use DX11. Not much use if you have a 4000 series card and use FG though.

Having said that, I’m using DX11 and do currently see FPS degradation in external view compared to cabin view.

Anyone have a problem steering on the ground… no control for me at all?

If you don’t like it, don’t use it. You didn’t pay for it. But please, respect the great work of freeware creators.
