Ok, purchased it and have a weird issue… the pedals simply wont work!
Everything is fine hardware wise, pedals are working with the other planes and helis i tried (including the B-47) profile is the same as i use for the B-47 and other helis.
Digging deeper I found that my Assistance Options are greyed out and stuck on Volocopter. Never seen this before and it doesn’t do it with any other plane/heli I tested. I then removed the Volocopter completely from my sim as I never use it but that hasn’t changed anything, assistance options still grayed out with “volocopter” profile, but only with the B206. Load up anything else and the assistance options are set to my usual custom profile.
I’m completely out of idea as to what to do now. I’ve spent nearly 5 hours trying to resolve this issues and it’s driving me nuts. Anyone got a clue what is going on?
Volocopter is a red herring. Microsoft has an option in the flight_model.cfg “disable_assistances = 1” which disables the flight assistances page. We use this, because the flight assists don’t play well with our FM, and it used to cause a lot of complaints from people who left them on. Unfortunately, the “disable_assistances” flag causes MSFS to show everything as “Volocopter” on that page, despite this aircraft having no relation to it.
Is there any chance you have split left/right axes for your rudder? If so we found an issue with those bindings, and are pushing a patch today to correct them.

Aha, yes indeed i do have split axis. Great to hear you’re aware of the issue, look forward to the patch! Thanks very much, Christmas isn’t ruined after all

Gave it a spin today, and boy is it a finicky beast!
With a brunner pedals and stick and 12cm extension i can hover it ok (well, sometimes it gets away), and it seems ratger realistic in where it reacts very predictably to the inputs (i have only flown a bell 47 for 30 minutes IRL, but I do fly fixed wing IRL)
However… picking it up from the ground is pure hell!
Probably have to invest in a collective, my cheap throtlle quadrant just won’t cut it
In flight it is very sensitive too, I suppose that is what the real thing does too (the b47 was rather sedated in flight IRL); or at least as close to possible in a sim
@RotorRick00 it would still be very nice if you could explain the forces felt in the cyclic IRL so I can finetune the brunner
Overall, really really well done! I like it very much!
Is there a way to use a force trim so that we move the cyclic - push the force trim - and the cyclic stays at his actuall attitude?
You don’t need a collective, just more practice. Any halfway decent flight controllers will do. I don’t recommend flying with a yoke, though. This is me landing and taking off with the Bell 206 twice to demonstrate an issue with the heading indicator (it gets stuck for a while after each landing):
I fly with this, no dedicated collective, no extended or custom stick. Just a regular flight simming stick with springs and a regular throttle quadrant. The left throttle lever is my collective, the right one my engine throttle. The twist grip is my anti torque pedals. Oh, and make sure you take off and land with the nose pointed into the wind when possible. Weathervaning is a big issue in helicopters.
The Flyinside Heli Manager is set to Realistic flight model with the default settings (Cyclic Sensitivity 80, Helicopter Stability 5 and Tail Stability 0).
No, because the real Jet Ranger 206B III doesn’t have a force trim. But you can use the in-game longitudinal and latitudinal rotor trim.

Oh, ok, if the Jet Ranger has no “FORCE TRIM” then that is absolutely ok. I thought i was just missing something. The other Trims (long/Lat) are working perfectly as they should.
Thanks for your fast reply.
Kind Regards

I find putting it back on the ground to be much worse. Unless you touch down with the skids perfectly parallel to the ground, it jumps around like a wild horse as soon as you touch the ground. Is it like this in real life or do the skids act a bit like shock absorbers?
There is a fix for that coming. To quote RotorRick:
It’s a Asobo thing we had to find a workaround. Either you have “light on the skids” or easier slides… not both. We figured out a way
Update will be out (after I test it!) in a few hours. Please stand by

GPS going dark bug is now fixed for me! Sliding landings are now also possible! Many thanks! I still have the issue though that the radio control panel (just below the GPS and just above the COM2/NAV2 panel) is not clickable for me, none of the buttons are clickable. All the other buttons I can click on, just not the ones on that panel. Curious to find out if others have that problem too…
Fixed in next weeks update…

Got my first proper flights in today and I absolutely love it. A real pleasure to fly. The performance hit is bad though… One of the worst performing aircraft in my hangar. Hope this is getting worked on.
Good job devs. Happy holidays to you all.
Hi there!
I just bought the B206, and I´m pretty shocked!
I´ve flown the Dodosim B206 in FSX a lot, and lately, I´ve been flying the Cowansim B206 in XP11 and 12 very often. But I am not able to do a nice pickup in this heli in MSFS. Landing becomes equally hard. I´ve set up the controls with no curves and null zones (I am using a X56 without spring), the flight model in the Flyinside heli manager is set to hard, and somehow, the cyclic controls all feel very sluggish…
What am i doing wrong here?
Are you trying in zero wind? Try that first. I find that the flight model very sensitively interacts with any cross wind throwing the airframe around in yaw suddenly upon lift-off and touchdown.
Is there a special technique for lift-offs in crosswinds?
All of the major bugs I found have been fixed with 1.92. Really enjoying it now. Thanks for the rapid iteration/turn-around on those (as a software developer myself, I get it).
Feature request: can we get an option for GTN integration (e.g. TDS GTNXi) in the VC in lieu of the conventional radio stack at some point? No rush; it’s mostly an eyes-out-the-window VFR craft anyhow with the GPS for reference. I just find it a lot easier to see and use than a GNS and traditional radio stack with a mouse (especially in VR).

So I double checked my bindings, and control settings. I’ve set the cylcic sensitivity to 140 and removed the FPS limiter (had limited the framerate to 30). Now, it’s somewhat controllable, but still very sluggish and with very pronounced inertia effect…
Of course it has inertia. It’s a 1.5 ton aircraft not a RC helicopter.

It’s too much interia. The whole cylic response becomes very sluggish. The Cowansim B206 in XP11 might have been a bit too responsive and “crisp” controlwise, but this is really not responsive at all. Even with cylic sensitivity set to 140 or 150, nothing happens upon control input first, followed by a rather drastic reaction. With that much lag, it’s very easy to get into PIO. Also, with 85% torque, I can’t get nowhere near Vne in level flight (at MSL, with no wind), and there is no transitional lift at all. I’ve flown the Dodosim a lot, and many other helis across all platforms, including DCS. And something is off with this flight model, at least on my system…
