I have the problem that the Ground Steering does not activate automatically by touchdown. How can I fix that?
See the video above your post about keybindings.
Its not about binding, I am just woundering why it does not activate automatically after touchdown, which I assume should happen.
Might be worth asking on their discord but i seem to recall something about rudder authority at high speed ?
Is it automatic in the real aircraft?
From their FSX LJ 35A manual just for info purposes. We don’t yet know what to expect with MSFS version.
I tried using the orange button on the yoke but maybe I needed a longer press as it enabled and disabled steer lock again quite quickly with a single quick click on it. I will try next time. It’s certainly quite annoying while trying to taxi off the runway then finding out you can’t steer, so stop, then go find the small centre console steer lock button.
In the first build it automatically reactivated after landing, but this was apparently not true to life, so they removed it
You are supposed to hold this button on the yoke down whenever steering the plane, per flightsimware. There’s another button that’s meant to be held when adjusting the pitch while in VS mode.
Both will get keybindings in the next version.
Interesting to know. I saw the “sync” button on the yoke RHS and was wondering if it worked. I’m assuming it’s the same as the BAE146 where you hit sync button and then use the yoke to set the desired pitch and then release sync button to hold that new pitch.
Also good to know the function of the orange button re steering. I’m going to have to figure out which hotas buttons to map these things to when they are available in next release.
v1.0.4 and now v1.0.5 (hotfix) are out.
This is exactly what you do. Also you can use the Rocker on the left top of the yoke. It is a big round button that has Nose down above it and nose up below it (You cant see that writing unless you pan around)
Every time you change the pitch with the rocker you need to re-enable the VS mode, you can also use pitch sync like the BAE-146 you dont need to re/enable the VS Mode using the sync method. Make sure you select/ARM ALT SEL too on any alt change or the AP wont capture your ALT.
You can Set the desired ALT on the actual ALTMETER using the left Knob.
Yes, got that figured out. Very 146 like. Is the SYNC for pitch working? I haven’t tried it as I was awaiting a key bind for it as it’s kind of necessary. I see they have just enabled key binds for steering lock button and MANUV button on yoke but no mention of SYNC.
For those without discord access-
Learjet 35A Early Access V1.0.4
Updates:
- Updated switch sounds.
- Autopilot, Yaw damper disconnecting play the autopilot horn sound. Running the autopilot full test will play the sound two times.
- The CWS on yoke disables the elevator trim when held in the on position. Elevator trim is also diabled when the primary/secondary eleavtor trim switch is in the center off position.
- Fixed the tooltips for both DME mode knob selectors.
- Fixed the autopilot bank flight director animation scale. Now is max 25 degrees.
- Added some stiches to the windshield and engine covers and straps. (Early access textures may not always be finished when we include changes and also may include issues.)
- Engine volume, bass, treble and balance sound was updated to work for both headsets to stereos.
- The maneuver button now disconnects the Go-Around mode.
Features:
- The PMS50 GTN 750 GPS now includes a GA mode for the autopilot system. This requires you download the latest version from the PMS50 website.
Link to download. https ://pms50.com/fs2020/gtn750/pms50-gtn750.zip - Right clicking the SPD mode button on the autopilot panel now toggles the autopilot management speed for IAS to MACH.
- The STEER LOCK button on the pedestal can now toggle using the default binding tail-hook handle from the sims joystick assignments. Once you use this assignment the button on the center pedestal will be INOP. The yoke MWS button can still be used for the momentary action.
- The pilot and copilot MSW red button is the momentary steer lock button and reset for all autopilot modes. This can now be assigned to the default binding G Limiter ON/OFF. You need to assign the same key to both. And for the OFF you will set for release action. This makes is a momentary button. See link to video tutorial.
- The pilot and copilot manuv R/P button is the momentary maneuvering button. This can now be assigned to the default binding Smoke ON/OFF. You need to assign the same key to both. And for the OFF you will set for release action. This makes is a momentary button. See link to video tutorial.
- Ground radar decal on the pilot and copilot ADI gauge got a new animation and texture update.
Learjet 35A Early Access V1.0.5 HOTFIX
Updates:
- Fixed the steer lock button on center pedestal to work with mouse and default binding. See last changelog new feature #3.
- Stiches to the windshield and engine covers and straps are now complete.
I think it is “INCREASE AUTO PILOT PITCH UP” & “INCREASE AUTO PILOT PITCH DOWN”
I have been using that since V1.0
In case the cabin interior is not to your taste I decided to revamp it a little. New wood, new colours, new leather seats.
https://flightsim.to/file/66702/flysimware-learjet-35a-refurbished-grey-interior
Also I created a new set of Cockpit Quick Views and Instrument Views and included dedicated cameras for the GPS and the tablet
https://flightsim.to/file/66573/flysimware-learjet-35a-better-cameras
Interior engine sounds much better now.
Agree. ATC can now be heard. It’s still loud in the cabin, but it’s much more liveable with now. Still think we could do with a slider user option for cabin sound.
Thanks for the cabin repaint!
Getting my head around the yoke button function bindings tutorial video I summarised it as follows for reference -
BINDINGS
Requires 3 buttons to be assigned on your HOTAS or Yoke. These bindings will be set to custom ones at some future point in time when Asobo release new blank variables for devs to use.
— MANUV BUTTON (RHS YOKE) —
MANUV BUTTON : {bound to} : SMOKE ON (ON PRESS)
MANUV BUTTON : {bound to} : SMOKE OFF (ON RELEASE)
FUNCTION:
This button is used to temporarily disengage AP so you can set pitch with yoke then it engages AP again on release using new value for pitch.
EXAMPLE:
if AP ON, with V/S mode press & hold MANUV BUTTON then use yoke to change pitch to what you want then release MANUV BUTTON, and AP will enable with V/S using new pitch value.
— STEER LOCK BUTTON 1 (center console white STEER LOCK button replacement) —
STEER LOCK BUTTON : {bound to} : TOGGLE TAIL HOOK HANDLE
{note: center console button may no longer toggle}
— STEER LOCK BUTTON 2 (ORANGE BUTTON ON LHS OF YOKE) —
STEER BUTTON : {bound to} : G LIMITER ON (ON PRESS)
STEER BUTTON : {bound to} : G LIMITER OFF (ON RELEASE)
FUNCTION:
Orange yoke button is a STEER ENABLE function while pressed when on the ground, and disables steering on release.
Note: It is an AP disengage button/function when airborne.
— PITCH SYNC BUTTON —
The yoke PITCH SYNC BUTTON only works when AP is DISENGAGED (in MANUAL MODE), it is disabled when AP is on. It is mapped to default sim “PITCH SYNC” binding/function.
That is a super helpful summary, thanks.
