FPS performance - VRAM bug?

Did someone tried to activate Nvidia „Resizable Bar“ (Rbar) already?

I activated Resizable Bar, but the issue still persists.

Thank you for sharing your experience with rbar.

Was hoping, that with rbar enabled, vram size doesn‘t matter anymore.

Ok… then lets hope we find another magic trick

For now, I’ve lowered Pre-Caching and textures to medium, with terrain and object LOD set to 50. That seems to have done the trick on my RTX 3070. I’m now using 6.2 GB VRAM in an Airbus A330 (EGLL) and getting a smooth 30-40 FPS at 2K with DLSS set to quality and the rest of the settings on high.

terrain and object LOD set to 50 is to low

Thanks, that was a good tip. It has greatly helped the VRAM issue on my pc. Its a good temporary fix untill they can hopefully fix the VRAM usage.

Do you have displacement mapping on or off?

I agree it’s low, but for now, it’s the only setting that keeps the sim running smoothly, at least for me, in more demanding areas. Hopefully, there will be further optimizations.

Great to hear it works! I’ve got Displacement Mapping on, and I forgot to mention that I also have ray-traced shadows turned off.

I’m getting terrible fps on landing and takeoff. Most of the flight is ok

Cool, yeah i experimentet with displacement mapping on or off and honestly dont notice anything, i guess its more of a CPU thing.

Yeah ray trached shadows are definetly staying off with my old RTX2060

I have the same problem
specs:
Ryzen 7800X3D
RTX 4080 Super
RAM 32GB
Bandwidth gigabit

MSFS Settings at high with lod set to 175

That’s exactly what I saw after I installed FS24.

The nvngx_dlss.dll file is in the Flight Simulator Content folder.
You can check Properties → Details to find the version currently installed.

I did, but it was active, I tried to reinstall Nvidia Driver, previous version and disabled the ReBar. With the Driver, no changes, after ReBar disabled, performance got worse, so ReBar actually impact it somehow but does not resolve the issue when active.

Thanks, I tried this and SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED. Even using previous NVidia driver. I will keep testing and will try to do a full flight before 100% sure but I dont see that stutter anymore below 10 fps, there are still very short ones when you switch views but they dont last more than a second. Not sure if something else happens in the server side but today seems to be ok to me, performance is far better than yesterday.

It is some type of memory leak, after a brief moment I thought it had fixed but when trying to fly like 737max, issue is back. I saw many types of bugs in the game assets like the panel, gate, etc. It seems to be unloading and realoading assets and breaking them. If I get back to the menu the performance issue contiunues with full GPU load , later it releases but that`s not ok to me. It’s still not playable.

I’ve noticed that significantly improves performance is when you use
Payware airports from the old MSFS, because this means it is installed on your hard disk and not on the servers. And now there is also the Fenix A320. The MSFS 24, which also
For the new Microsoft
for the new simulator, which still has a few bugs, but the airplane is on your hard drive and not on the servers. And by having both things on my hard drive now, I’ve noticed much better FPS. But actually not in the first-person view, which is a bit strange, but everything else ran smoothly. I heard something similar from someone else

Does that help anyone here? https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016142680-How-to-improve-the-performance

nope, tried almost everything now but nothing works for me. I’ll wait for a fix even though seems like it’s not getting logged

still randomly getting 5/10 fps while few seconds beforehand everything was smooth

Has this been reported through Zendesk?
