Fragmenting of volumetric light in VR

Brief description of the issue:
When flying through cloud in VR with landing lights on, the light appears fragmented into geometric patterns.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:
Fly through any cloud with landing lights on.

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:
Reverb G2, RTX 3070, i9 10850k

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:
SU8 public beta, and still persisting with SU8 final

I also saw something similar when flying the Just Flight Hawk T1 through cloud.

Yes, It happens to me too, and windshield reflections are totally broken now. It’s incredible. Unfortunately, it seems that vr users are not important.

Both issues (volumetric lights and broken reflections) were noticed during BETA. Unfortunately like many other reported incorrectly fixed bugs and regressions they have not been fixed before official SU8 release…


I was in the beta but I don’t fly at night that much I guess so I did not notice it then, but just now leaving LAX before sunrise with the marine layer out I had the same effects as OP shows in the screenshot. I was flying the CRJ900. I hadn’t updated my nvidia drivers in awhile but I did have to reinstall the game after the wonderful transition from beta to full release of SU8. I just now put the latest nvidia drivers in and it is still the same effect with landing lights in clouds or low visibility.

TLDR… I have the same problem as OP.
