Freedom Fox (Trent Palmer's Kitfox) by developer Parallel 42

Complete. I started up the sim this morning and they were all there. Maybe it just needed the restart?

If you want the FreedomFox complete package with orbx camp scenery - be sure to pick the Complete package.

  • But there is still a problem - the aircraft does not show up community folder. Impossible to find documentation. - And how to activate the camp addon
Looking for the orbx scenery? It is not in your orbx central.
My advice is to purchase the 42 FreedomFox inclusive from orbx central. - Maybe you find better documentation there, and proof of camp addon purchase.

That Camp feature is not a part of the Freedom Fox package. It’s a separate thing called Campout.

There is a single tent you can place if you look behind the seats and click the tent bag when you’re parked but it’s just a fixed position static element.

Not really understanding your post tbh.

Then I want money back .
I paid 199 dkr for a complete package - Just the Fox cost 99 dkr.
Conclusion: I paid 10 usd for a single tent

Promised in Marketplace package:
Content includes Base Package.
5 Free scenes - Desert - Mexican - Bush - Mars - Stone Cabin .
Where is the documentation for scenery? Does Base Package mean a single tent?
Campout cost 10 usd at orbx - the same as a single tent in marketplace -
No doubt a complete package with aircraft is a much better deal at orbx.

Happy to process your refund (if your purchased thru Orbx, we cannot assist with marketplace). Please contact us via support with proof of purchase within the last 30 days. While you’re at it, include where it shows us saying that FF/F2 Complete Package includes “Campout Utility” for object placement in the sim world.

We will not be addressing this further in public for your own protection.

Thanks.
Problem is that marketplace is misleading .
My story:

  1. Watching a review of Firefox and campout addon. Main interest was the campout addon.
  2. Checking msfs marketplace - there are 2 options for Firefox. The most expensive - Complete - includes a base package. Checking screenshots there are many items you find in the campout addon. I assumed I purchased the campout addon.
  3. Starting the Firefox - I had no clue how to get scenery or campout addon.
  4. Checking Community folders and appdata - no documentation.
  5. Internet - lead me to Paralell42 site - but no documentation.
  6. Paralell 42 forum gave me a hint that orbx is involved.
  7. I have the orbx central as a leftover since p3d days. Blowing dust (new password) of central - I finally find the secret of campout addon. Paralell42 is represented there with a Firefox and campout bundle (what I was looking for). The campout addon is also a standalone addon. You can camp with a 747 on tarmac. You do not need Firefox - you can pick any bush aircraft.
  • Guess the free scenery can be activated in central
 I will check it.
    Conclusion:
Long Saturday with no documentation found, but guess I figured it out at the end.
I appreciate your refund offer - but even much more expensive than anticipated - I keep it, and may purchase the campout in a couple of weeks from orbx.

The tent with the kitfox is there in the base package, just click on the luggage behind the seat. It’s a proper tent but it’s not related to the campout addon at all, that is a totally separate addon with much more functionality.

The complete package is the kitfox plus several small but really nice airstrips and sceneries. You can buy these separately or it’s cheaper with the kitfox bundle. These are worth having I think so make the bundle good value. You can find these sceneries in the world map, they all start with 42 in their ICAO.

Whichever package you buy you get the little tent in the plane, but with neither do you get the unrelated campout product.

Happy to help however we can. Glad you got it sorted. Next time don’t hesitate to reach out! http://help.parallel42.com

As soon as MS gives us a better way to bundle scenery with aircraft, well jump on it. The platform is very limiting, but we’re hopeful. :sign_of_the_horns:

Thanks - Hopefully final Q:
msfs marketplace package do add 5 scenery - How to install them?
In central you have to buy them - only one is free.

They install automatically.

Most of these need fixing if P42 is interested in expanding beyond the PNW.

I’d imagine there are more in Nor Cal, like up in the Lassen wilderness.

I wish the PNW stuff was on the box as I live in the upper left

Love flying the plane, but I too was a bit disappointed with the lack of documentation. I had to go online to look up engine specs, etc. to track my engine temps. etc. And I assumed the campout addon was included with the “complete” package as I somehow missed any notes to the contrary both on the Parallel 42 webpage or on Orbx and I usually read the “fineprint” being ratherthorough before spending my $$. But I am having a blast bush flying in New Guinea and Alaska so I can pass the initial disappointment mentioned above, but Parallel 42 really needs to address this issue to avoid unpleasant feedback in the future.

If multiple people have the same misunderstanding then it’s obviously not as clear as it needs to be, hopefully they update the description to make it unambiguous. Not everyone has read all of the blogs and threads. Must be that people see a package with a tent in the picture and just assume campout is in the package.

I bought the camp out thinking the “camp site” was released even though I already had it from freedom fox. I purchased through the marketplace on Xbox and contacted Microsoft with no response

Sorry, what? Is this a question? If so, can you put it in other words as I don’t follow what you mean in the slightest.

I’m going to guess that people are getting confused between the “Bush plane campout” scenery product and the “Campout utility” product.

While they are clearly different products to anyone who has looked at both, I suspect the names are similar enough that someone who’s heard of “campout” and didn’t read carefully or just looked at the pictures (both show tents) could easily buy the wrong thing.

Ah yea totally with you. I didn’t think of that. Yes that is rather confusing now you’ve pointed it out.

Maybe they should rename the scenery to Bush Party or Bush SomethingstartingwithC that I’m too sleepy to think of.

“While they are clearly different products to anyone who has looked at both”

Exactly, It’s like getting confused between airports because they have “airport” in the title and both show jetways. Or thinking an airport scenery Includes flyable airplanes too.

We can’t account for people not looking at all and smacking a buy now button. Each respective purchase clearly outlines what you get and don’t get, in the very first
line.

We won’t be updating product names.

A product page is created to list what you DO get when purchasing. At no point should the bullet points list out what you DON’T get.

FreedomFox has a tent and had it long before //42 Campout Utility was released with completely different functionality and in a different product category. The FreedomFox product page does not say it includes //42 Campout Utility.

Glad you’re enjoying a bit of bush-flying! It’s truly a feeling of
freedom.
