Curious about this as well. Just bought the base version and got the update. Did not get the Analog versions but did get the new G3X. Hopefully the CFD and ground physics are carried over to the base model as well.
The pack is essentially 4 aircraft for $14.
ETA: actually, 8 aircraft nowā¦
I would think so.
seems like brakes on the fox works only mutualy. No left or right separate braking capability. Itās that correct with irl plane?
Finally available on Orbx! You need to manually uninstall the old version (stupid Mod Manager, I never liked this unnecessary gimmick), and then install the new version from the Orbx app.
The additional airfields are now separate entities in the Orbx app as well, and free for existing owners of the old package. Only thing I did not find after installation was Trentās airfield. Think the code is FFOX, but it does not show up in my sim.
The update is pretty amazing. New WT G3X, optional analog cockpit, and the stall characteristics are a lot better in my opinion, no longer dropping a wing.
Takeoff is a bit tricky, even without any wind. Sudden movements of the nose to the left and right, but it gets easier with a bit of practice.
All in all I am very, very happy with this update! I love Trent Palmerās YouTube channel, and it is so much fun reliving his adventures in the sim.
Weird, I donāt see any update available via Orbx here yet.
Also how do you Uninstall the Mod Manager? I donāt see it listed in Add/Remove Programs in Windows, and nothing in the Start Menu to uninstall.
How did you do that? Would I do it here when it becomes available?
I uninstalled in the Orbx App, then navigated to Airplanes ā ā//42 FreedomFox / Fox2 - Complete Pack Newā to install the free new version.

Funny, I was all excited about the analog, but with the new G3x I went right back to the glass version.
Iām not sure Iām pleased with the new flight model though.
Thanks for your advice - think I sorted it. Loading up now.
This one is called Desert Oasis if you search on the Orbx app to install it.
Ah, I thought tthis one came with the plane. Found it now, thank you
Got the update from the marketplace. New G3X is welcome. I couldnāt find the analog cockpit though - how do I enable it?
I donāt find the flight model any more pleasant than before Iām afraid. It does seem to sharply drop a wing when I stall it, and landing close to stall speed still seems like a dangerous affair. Takeoffs seem abrupt too. Maybe itās my technique. Iām open to advice.
The analog cockpit Kitfoxes are separate versions that you find in the aircraft selection screen right next to the Garmin ones. They are labelled as such. If you donāt see them itās probably not installed correctly.
I donāt have any advice for you as I just bought the plane the day before the the update. But I will echo your sentiments. Takeoff in particular feels a lot worse than it did before the update. Iām not sure if it is more realistic but even if it is this is one of those times where I think it was more enjoyable when it was less realistic.
On the first day I had this plane I had a ball taking off and landing in all sorts of weird places. Now I donāt even really want to fly it anymore because of the strange behaviour. I practiced taking off repeatedly and couldnāt figure out any rhyme or reason for its reactions.
i searched both desert oasis and FFOX and its not turning up anything?
EDIT* Nevermind itās on ORBX CENTRAL not the website in case anyone is wondering
Exactly my thoughts, as I also just bought this on the sale a few days ago. The Kitfox is nearly uncontrollable on the ground after the update. And yes, if this is more realistic, it is at the expense of enjoyability.
I also got the Wilga on the same sale, which to me right now is a much better experience overall. These are both my first experience with taildraggers, so admittedly Iām still learning how to takeoff and land these guys, but at least I can do reasonable ones on the Wilga right off the bat.
Strange, it did for me in the app. The website (search via Google) takes you to the main product page now. But it appears as a separate install I had to do.
ā¦but if I click to Open that page in browser, I get this:
I think it was because i never got around to installing those scenes when i bought the plane. Regardless i found it and have it installed now.
It requires some practice like any other taildragger plane. If you want that kind of stability just use a trike plane. The beauty thing of a taildragger is the extra challenge on takeoff/landing, just train a little bit and youāll be fine.
Iāll try some closed traffic circuits later this weekend and report back.
I just flew the Stage 2 and I like the flight model. Maybe Iām biased but I find it a little bit more realisticā¦
