FS2024 CTD when adjusting Tobii Eye Tracker curves

Awesome thanks for your settings perfect for me… :ga_plane: :+1:

Thanks, you are awesome!

Thank you! I tried to use notepad++ (with xml plug in) to edit the file but can’t make it readable. Any tricks with notepad++ to allow easy editing of the file?

Thanks for these settings, much better than the defaults.

Even using these settings though I am finding I have very limited views to the side, and increasing the third number (head tracking sensitivity) to silly levels (36000) (via more sensible levels) does not seem to make much of a difference. This screenshot is about as far to the left as I can get it to go, which is not much use for checking the position in the pattern for example.

Has anyone managed to get all around visibility?

Thanks DaddyPlump, that was a great solution. Much better now.

My only issue is that Tobii doesn’t quite see me accurately in my default sitting position. I have to lean over my yolk for it to find me, which makes for awkward flying hunched forward. Wish it were a tad more accurate around 36" - 40" from the screen. Contemplating going to TrackIR instead.

Same here. Still searching for this .xml file :wink:

With Tobii in 2020/2024 I use with position disabled as the head tracking works, but it does mean I can’t lean forward to look at gauges. In 2020 turning on positioning would mean I was always sat behind the seat :slight_smile:

I tried Track IR where the positioning worked better, but I found that because I was now behind the centre point there would be a significant movement. For example turning to look at the right side of the plane would move the camera outside of the left side of the aircraft. I have not found a way to reset the centre point for Tobii, which seems like a common use case.

The file won’t have a .xml extension, but the contents will be xml.

If you have an editor that will do a “find in files” you could do a search for files containing “Tobii” (I used VS Code to search the MS2020 files to find the original settings I had there to try and copy them over).

Yes, I’m quite happy with these settings:

	<Axes>
		<Axis AxisName="0" AxisSensitivy="94" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="1" AxisSensitivy="10" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="2" AxisSensitivy="150" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="3" AxisSensitivy="19" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="4" AxisSensitivy="80" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="5" AxisSensitivy="100" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="6" AxisSensitivy="0" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
	</Axes>

Hey @Venford, not sure if you’ve solved this issue but for me, the default key-bind is “left alt” + “8”.
This was automatically set in the sim.

Thanks for that, I have these working now.

In case my foolishness helps anyone else: although I had created the new profile as suggested, it was not the active profile in game which is why the changes I was making outside of the game were not having the expected effect.

Thanks much for the workaround! Able to run Tobii without having to use Opentrack now. Sensitivity is the same as I had tuned for FS2020 thanks to all the hints in this thread.

<Axes>
		<Axis AxisName="0" AxisSensitivy="90" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="1" AxisSensitivy="30" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="2" AxisSensitivy="80" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="3" AxisSensitivy="16" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="4" AxisSensitivy="45" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="5" AxisSensitivy="45" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
		<Axis AxisName="6" AxisSensitivy="0" AxisSensitivyMinus="0" AxisNeutral="0" AxisDeadZone="0"/>
	</Axes>

Thanks for this! Directly copying my 2020 values didn’t work, but when I multiplied all the decimal values by 100, I was all set!

I, same issue here, my Tobii is half working, I can’t move my face forward or backward like in MSFS-2020, is there a solution please?

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes every time i test to access i have an instant crash

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

i don’t know, i’m not the dev of this game
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Did finally manage to edit the \AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs\0009000007C3FE07_000000000000000000000000604CC91B\5E077251D6CC44DA91E8899C1F10B555\EDCFA0203A1A42F3BD006B77CE5F7BBD (I love hexa :wink: after reading here that it’s a .txt and .xml file.

Did the change, by the way, I disabled the NPClient64.dll (from C:\Program Files (x86)\opentrack\modules), launch MSFS, the earth globe moved during 2 sec and then my Tobii seems 100% inoperative. Tested in flight as well. No head movement.

What is the tricks to do when you had a MSFS2024 + Tobii that worked with the OpenTrack workaround and now you want to return to the .xml workaround without Opentrack, tobii is 100% Inop in MSFS? What did I missed?

You may have to go in to Regedit and manually remove the entry for Naturalpoint to get Tobii working correctly again if you used Opentrack. Just do a search for Naturalpoint and delete all instances ( should only be one but i can’t remember the location). Then the xml workaround should work again.

Thank you!

Thanks for your help but it wasn’t entirely my fault. I set wrong value in the .xml. All sounds good now.

Hi
Thank you for that but I’ve no Microsoft.limitless folder in \AppData\Local\Packages\ ??
I’ve a steam version

Capture

Very strange
