You’re lucky. Your ‘node’ must finally be up to date. In the UK that’s not the case, and clicking ‘update’ just runs the same files over and over.
It’s beyond a joke now.

There’s a link to a file that avoids the installer on their forum site. So after waiting for over 2 hours for the installer I cancelled it “uninstalled” whatever had actually happened then started the standalone progamme.
Left it running overnight but exactly the same result. UK user.
The update mechanism is terrible, it should be able to check both on the host and your client which version of the software you are using and make a decision, not just show update forever and allow you to click it into infinity.
Can’t believe its still not fixed, have not used it in a while now.
Absolutely agreed.
I should not have to go to their forum and download an offline installer everyday because their native app and it’s update process is complete junk. Whoever heard of an update to a piece of software where it is impossible to tell what version you are on?
When GSX was first released I’m sure I read that this methodology (cloudflare nodes etc) was used to prevent server meltdown causing people to not be able to get the product. Well, we’re a long way past that point and this method clearly, very clearly, doesn’t work. At £30+ for this product this shambolic update process is completely unacceptable.
However, I really like the product. I like the fact that it is getting updates (whether it should have been released as was is up for debate) and it is a must have if you fly airliners. If they could just sort this update process, however, it would be infinitely better.
usually that is a result of an airport enhancement add on over the top of the default airport scenery.
Follow this thread and use the updated Offline Installer:
But that’s my point fella. As I said in my previous post, we shouldn’t have to be going to their forum on a daily basis and downloading an offline installer to cover the cracks in their own, dedicated app.
I happily put up with it for a few days but we’re now two weeks past release and it still doesn’t work.
Not good enough.
I’m 100% sure no one following this thread misses your point, “fella.” Just trying to assist and cut down on the wall of complaints.
Carry on.
That’s fine, but to be fair you’ve added a needless post there as I’d already mentioned having to download this offline installer in my previous reply.
ps Where I’m from ‘fella’ is a term of endearment.
Totally agree. The only other major issue I see is the update process rarely works since he’s having issues with cloud fare nodes not updating. But it seems to be getting better. I just use offline installer each day he updates GSX Pro and things are working much, much better.
This is getting me convinced (almost) to buying it again after my reimbursement after the initial purchase.
I think you’d see a big difference between then and now. There are still some niggles and odd decisions (like not having the ability to turn on/off pilot & CC boarding, or have them all board together etc) but I wouldn’t want to go back to what we had before.
Is the annoying issue with the GSX menu disappearing continuously also solved?
Sadly not. I think that might even be intentional which is inexplicable to me!
This was addressed a few times by Umberto in their forums, but ti’s scattered across a couple threads. Basically, it’s a limitation of Simconnect and the MSFS SDK and how they work together. GSX runs as a separate process and can’t actively call a menu independently of the user. I think that’s why you get audio prompts (beeps to remind you to open/close doors, or the voice telling you something is in progress).
GSX is terrible-you should be able to install it straight out the box and no faving about with setting up individual airports etc. Yes I purchased it and ran it hell the dispatcher was walking back over the runway when she cleared you. People climbing on top of the plane! Traffic slicing through your aircraft. Pushback works reasonable though but takes for ever!!. I have totally deleted it and can kiss goodback to 30 odd bucks
Agreed. In its current state it’s just a bad product, trying to become a better product but doing that very slowly and chaotically.
absolutely love this product, works great. Just click on the menus and it works i don’t see the problem
Further to my earlier post I’d really love to be able to use this add-on, looks just what I’d like to see when flying tubes. But even the “alternative” downloader would not progress so once again I dumped everything, deleted what was already downloaded and cleaned out the system.
I then went back to FSDT site and started all over again with the downloader, on the off chance it was just an internet traffic issue. It did seem to get a little further along but I’ve left it running now for SIX HOURS and it’s still loading - it’s worse than an MSFS installation! But at least it is still loading something…
On the suggestion of someone on their forum I’ve installed a VPN but that doesn’t seem to have helped. So I’m just going to let it run and maybe it’ll be done when SU10 is published!
So glad for now that I haven’t (yet) laid out any cash, want to checkout the “trial” they’re so keen about.
So, if you do decide to run this offline installer, will it still show update available in the installer, and also let you download files over and over?
Thats my issue.
Even if I use this offline installer, the stoftware will still show update available and let me download and install files over and over.
