I do see this sometimes but the menu has always offered to make one available by removing the ai airplane.
I also get a problem with gsx sometimes thinking a medium size gate / parking is too small for the fenix - even though it seems more than adequate! But again gsx will move you to one it is happy with.

Is there any chance of assisting me with the fact I can no longer activate this product? or give me a refund if its too time consuming. At present I cannot use it and logged a ticket a week ago.
Hello guys. Iâm sure Iâve alredy read it on this forum, but I canât find it, so forgive me if I repeat a question already made and answered. When I try to link the simbrief profile, GSX says aircraft in msfs is a 737 and aircraft in the OFP is a 738, and donât let me link. But aircraft I loaded in msfs is PMDG 738, not 737. I read I have to change something in a .cfg file, but I canât find this post and I donât know what file I have to change. Could you tell me, please?
Thankyou for your help
Is anybody getting the âcould not find valid AFCAD data at this positionâ error still? I have tried everything I can think of, but canât get it to work. This is very frustrating. The menu just wonât open. Has anyone fixed it? I have not transitioned from MS to Steam version, and airport is MPTO.
I donât have the GSX yet and Iâm not sure if thatâs connected somehow but there are missing data for MPTO in the sim.
Does anyone have a fix or experience this? When I load into an airport, I select the ground crew service livery then select begin boarding. Boarding doesnât go for maybe less then 3-5 minutes and just stops.
I have the density slide at dense but times before it would take a good few minutes for people to board. Now it just ends randomly? Should I be selecting baggage first? Or is this a bug.
Thanks for any advice. Also Iâm up to date on updates.
How do you set your passenger numbers? The âdensityâ is how fast they all get on, with dense meaning they storm the aircraft in a blob of people.
Page 14 of the manual (found from the FSDT Installer app line for GSX, âOpen Manualâ):
Passengers Number
GSX will estimate the number of passengers on board based on the weight of
all stations in the [weight_and_balance] section of the aircraft.cfg of the airplane
in use, divided by 220 lbs, an industry standard to calculate how much a single
passenger + luggage weights, in average. For example, the default A320 has a
maximum payload of about 60.300 lbs, equaling to 274 passengers, this difference
is due to the inability to know exactly which payload station is cargo and which
is people, the simulator doesnât support it, so GSX can only do a rough estimate.
For a better precision 3rd party airplane developers can set a variable to commu- nicate to GSX the passenger number they have setup in the plane or, even better
and new to this version, if you plan your flight with SimBrief, GSX can read the
actual passenger number from your current dispatch on SimBrief
I really donât want rub salt in your wounds, but I had the same feelings. Until I got my refund, thanks to the link at the bottom of their email.
For the rest: maybe itâs not too late
HmmmâŠwatching another successful run with GSX now. Deboarding, refueling, and setting up the A333 after a landing at KBOS. Aside from the menu closing without me wanting it to, itâs working great for me.
Its impossible.
I post on the forum, no reply, I raise a ticket a week ago, nothing. Canât refund because the link doesnât work now on the email.
So basically I have a product I cannot use but out of pocket.
I just want to use the product I paid hard earned money for! not go through all of this hassle when Iâve already got a job to do.
I first tried this add-on using the try before you buy and thought. yes Iâll buy it. But thereafter I had all sorts of trouble, first installing it and then getting it to run. Iâm not one to give up, however, so after doing a full uninstall and a system cleanup I tried again. This time it downloaded okay but on trying to use it I got, to be honest, mixed results.
Iâve now tried it several times at different airfields and with different planes, updating the programme before each try, and itâs starting to get to be something like I was hoping/expecting. I do think the Dev has taken a lot of stick, even wrongfully being accused of causing a major CTD problem which turned out to be nothing to do with his mod.-, and I wouldnât blame him if he just threw up his hands and yelled âstuff the lot of youâ. But he has persevered and I know that the programme is getting sorted, indeed am happy to see that some folk are having no problems at all. Iâm sure Iâll get there too.
So keep going Umberto, youâve been a bit unlucky but your efforts are working out. And for those wanting out, well that happens in all retail!
The entire GSX system with MSFS is a total mess. Umberto knows it, refuses to admit it, but knows it. When it works, it works great. But itâs never consistently good. Itâs either the pilotâs fault, Simbrief didnât match perfectly, it canât read encrypted airports (so youâre out of luck if you bought any on Marketplace) and yet itâs slowly but surely getting some fixes added â but that, too, is a major painpoint for all of his customers. The installer rarely works for hundreds if not thousands of us, so we âgetâ to download updates from his website each time.
i dont think they would be loading pax while refueling
Loading PAX while refueling is done many times, at least in commercial airliner flights in the European Union.
You are requested to not have your seat belt on, and in theory ,at least a couple of years ago, you were told to stop using your electronic devices (which nobody does and nobody enforces).
Like many others I have had a âhate and loveâ relationship with GSX Pro, but lately it is turning to mostly âloveâ.
Pros:
- Only for the customized jetways at any stock airport and the customized vehicles the price would be worth it. I owned the Arex LVFR regional vehicles, which all together (several regions) costed me more than GSX, and I have now uninstalled all of them, because GSX is better.
- The âProâ features and animations are amazing, and add a lot of life to the airliner world.
- The local-accent English voices for the ground operators are an amazing touch.
- The fully automated push-back and follow-me car features work out of the box in most situations and are just great.
- After many flights, I can say it works flawless in most stock airports, and in many custom airports if you disable them from the setup page in the installer.
- No big fps impact while on the ground.
Cons:
- The terrible UI, with the menu closing itself. This is allegedly done on purpose to âsave clicksâ, but I think the consensus is that the concept is terrible, and that it should be changed.
- The on-screen texts are not displayed in VR.
- The LOD for vehicles and people, which causes many sudden pop-ups and disappearances.
- Many visual glitches (follow-me car driving through pushback truck, passengers walking on air when leaving plane, pushback driving the plane into a hangar, etc.). But I tend to look at those as funny situations which make me smile when they happen (probably, in average, 10 - 20% of the time only).
- Although it works out of the box with complex airliners (at least, with the Fenix, which is the one I use always), the m.o. for that is not properly explained in the manual (despite what the dev says), so it needs a lot of trial and error to find a workflow which is realistic enough and which does not conflict with how to setup your plane.
- The terrible installer. You never know if there is un update, and whether it is updating something or not when you run it.
- And last but not least, the condescending and patronizing attitude of the dev (in their forums), where everything is perfect, and it is always the fault of the Cloudflare servers or the fault of the user for not reading the manual or not doing things properly. I, like many others, have indeed read the manual, but this is not enough for new users to get acquainted with the procedures needed to fully use the software.
Just my 2 cents of advice, after using GSX pro over a few weeks nowâŠ
I agree with pretty much all of this. As a whole, GSX is a worthy update to FS, but it can be enourmously frustrating for all the reasons given.
The auto-hiding of the menu is indeed a terrible concept, which would be far better left to the individual to do via a hot-key, acknowledging that if they close the window via the red cross in top right, this really closes it and certain features wonât work until re-opened from the in-game toolbar.
And as for the dev, I suspect, although I donât know, so apoligies if I have this wrong, English is not his first language and he needs to be cut considerable slack for that. And some of the wording in the manual is overly complex, contradictory, illogical and hard to understand. Nevertheless, he often comes across with an air of utter contempt for his customers, both those who are seeking help, and those who offer constructive suggestions as to how the software could be enhanced or improved. So those of a faint heart should take note before seeking help through the product forum.
He is apparently Italian, so fully agree with the language barrier (especially regarding manual). I do not know how many people work with him / for him, because GSX is clearly a big piece of software, hard to believe it is a one-man-job, so someone else could perhaps take care of the P.R. and customer service in a better way than Umberto does⊠It is really making him a bad service the way he treats paying customers.
Forgot to add a couple more of pros to this piece of software:
- Simbrief integration (although sometimes it does not seem to work as expected)
- VDGS support at any (?) airport, provided a configuration file is created for the airport
- And fully customizable airport configurations to improve the default ones. Flightsim.to is filling with different free airport profiles for many payware airports, which bring GSX to a new level. I only tested one of them so far (LEBL), and although some jetways are still out of position (although this looks like a fault of the airport developer, LVFR), VDGS has been added by a community modder and looks fully functional.
Another one here with a love hate relationship.
Do I regret paying for it? No, it has plenty of promise, and when it works its good. The 2 main problems I have with it, is the update/install process is terrible. Try uninstalling it, and it leaves bits and pieces everywhere and updating seems to be a lottery as to if you do get updated when running it.
The second, is that the amount of time required for setup is unreasonable. If I had unlimited time to set up then great, but like most I dont.
Really hoping that it matures into the promise it obviously has, but currently its just too much of a time sink, and the results are unreliable.
After two days of using the GSX I must say that I donât regret purchasing it. It has some flaws but I believe they will be fixed eventually. Itâs clear that there has been a lot of work and love put into the product.
It helps to read the manual, especially the first part describing how things work and also the part about the program preferences. I know the FSDT installer and their update process from before because I own almost all their nice airport addons. I must admit though that itâs weird and I wish they rework that app in the future and make it more intuitive.
