Thank you for looking at this, and thanks for your ongoing great support of GSX.

The news about jetways and SU12 is great, although I have still noticed passengers walking half through the floor of 3rd party jetway scenery.

Is this something that hasn’t been fixed, or is because people have created profiles with incorrectly situated passenger waypoints?

I had that happen recently too, I suspect it’s probably just a bad ini file for the 3rd party airport in question, and maybe some ini files now need updated to reflect recent GSX changes. Who knows though.

Yeah. I don’t want to start going through to remove pac waypoints if it’s not them that are the problem.

It’d be interesting to know if SU12 really did fix this, or is it still not working as it should.

A fairly easy way to check if it’s a bad/outdated .ini file would be to simply remove the file for the airport where you observe it occurring and see if it still happens.

That’s a good point. I’ll give that a try, thanks

I appreciate the addition of the Innsbruck logo’d stairs, but why do we have a floating man along with them?

Works fine here:

Your problem is most likely caused by the very well known problem of objects disappearing because having reached the maximum number of objects allowed in the sim, discussed here:

Version 2.4.7 has been released today, here’s the Changelog:

2.4.7 - April 8th, 2023

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: If the parking spot can’t be used due to being isolated, a menu will offer to reposition the airplane on another spot.

  • GSX (all versions) NEW: “Test Jetway” function now available when editing the Stop position, in addition to the Parking position, to speed up profile creation.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Operators sharing parking codes (like AA/AA_white or Ryanair/Blue ) will no longer mix-up during service.

  • GSX Pro NEW: Passenger Waypoint markers now show a ruler if raised, to make it easier to measure heights of objects like Jetways, to simplify adding custom root floor heights in profiles.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Solved a problem of Stairs not moving when starting with “Operate Stairs” in some airports.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix: Solved a case of services blocked if a jetway didn’t move at all, for any reason. If the jetway doesn’t end up docked in 30 seconds, the program will continue normally, after logging the problem in the diagnostic Log.

  • GSX Pro Change: When bad data is coming from the Jetway Navdata API call, GSX will detect the problem and will show a message to warn about that, disabling passengers automatically, to prevent them walking to the wrong location.

  • GSX Pro Change:If a Jetway connected partially, depending on its distance from the Main Exit, GSX will issue two different messages (“not fully docked” or “not close enough to any door”), to make it clear why it had to disable Passengers in this case.

  • GSX (all versions) Fix:Error if using the Jetway test function after it was already docked.

Thank you for your old post. I have been thinking I was going mad - simply can’t find any GSX settings that they refer to in the manual , and there it is hidden in a window that needed to be resized. Shame on Asobo for poor window code (no scroll bars? in 2023?) but also on FSDT for not making ANY reference in the manual as to where settings actually are!

Does anyone know if GSX supports the PMDG DC-6 out of the box? On a lark yesterday I called for stairs on the DC-6B (passenger version) and GSX spawned full size jet airliner stairs. They were offset from the the DC-6 passenger door, and on the wrong side of the aircraft to boot.

Similarly, spawning on the ramp in the the A variant (cargo) results in a full-size pallet loadier showing up.

I thought I read a while back that the DC-6 was supported by GSX without customizing, but perhaps I mis-remember. Or maybe support got broken by something along the way? Anyone know for sure?

I don’t have the DC-6 but you can check that when you load into a flight with the DC-6 and open Customize Airplane from the GSX menu. If there is “Internal GSX database” under “Aircraft data available from these sources:” then the airplane is supported by GSX out of the box.

There are some GSX profiles for DC6 available on the net. They are not perfect but this is a good start. Then you can modify using the GSX editor.

Yeah, I found one for one variant on the FSDT GSX forum, and one for the other variant on flightsim.to. But reading back through prior release notes for GSX, Umberto said support for the DC-6 was added in late January but if that’s the case, it seems broken.

Over the last week or so, when I arrive at the destination, I see COUTL is no longer running and I have to start it every time I arrive. Used to work perfectly before that.

Quick question (probably asked / answered and I just can’t find it).

Do we need to specify an AFCAD path for airports purchased outside of the Marketplace? I see mixed reviews / opinions on this.

All of my airports are purchased outside of the Marketplace and I have the SU12 API option checked.

Thanks in advance.
