FSLTL - FS Live Traffic Liveries is live!

Is AIG’s offline traffic working as normal then Kai? I don’t know what to use at this point until this dumpster fire is addresses.

not, since it is the offline AI system that is broken in MSFS. We are currently investigating a possible workaround, but not sure if we can pull it off.

Wow, that’s sad. Although they weren’t perfect due to sim limitations, I liked the wing flex and nose wheel steering on some of the models. Personally, I didn’t have any issues with FPS. Would be good if they allowed for an option for this, “disable animations” etc.

I think it would be great if we could have an option to choose.

It looks like Asobo would do much better if they didn’t touch the AI traffic code at all. SU10 + FSLTL + AIFlow + AIGround worked just fine. Now waiting for SU12 and hoping for a fix… Great

They need to fix AI, but they should fix it and release when ready and not attempt to work on it, break it and release it because they rushed to get the 40th Anniversary out the door. It’s always something with these guys. Do it once and do it right for crying out loud.

Thanks. I made some changes as you described and now I see activity. It does take a solid 5 minutes before any activity occurs. And then there is a long line to take off. Is this “normal” atm?

Could not have said it any better!

The trouble is it’s not an injector type thing. It is a model specific thing so you can’t pass a variable to enable/disable it via the injector.

I think there is possibly a good case to have two sets of AI models though, one “High fidelity 4k + animations” and one “light 1-2k with animations disabled” for people who have fps issues.
They could probably script the generation of that to automate it and make it a fast process to minimise workload. But my suggestion was shot down.

That’s normal. I always wait 10 minutes at every airport for AI traffic to appear / taxi / take off and land (well it used to land in su10).
Static aircraft appear fairly immediately though as you will probably have seen.

Is there even an eta for su12 yet I’m thinking 2023 earliest.

Does anyone else think that Just Flight’s FS Traffic is going to be what we’ve been waiting for in terms of offline traffic?

I just can’t see them releasing a product that isn’t going to work with SU11, especially since it’s going to be payware and it sounds like they’re close to release.

Also, it’s been crickets about an offline traffic fix from Asobo, which draws me to this conclusion.

AIG & FSLTL are amazing and free, but I have a feeling, somehow, fingers crossed, FS Traffic is going to hit the mark for offline traffic.

Does it not still use default AI though? I thought it was just a model, livery and schedule tool, but I don’t know for sure. Will certaiy be interesting to see what comes of it, or whether su11 has affected it. If they are using default AI then maybe you will see the equivalent of default ai right now but with better models liveries and schedules.
I think someone will have to eventually do a comparison chart between the tools.

Any payware company is walking into a rats nest regarding any AI traffic package. Aerosoft had the right idea, polish the T. Imagine the complaints, “OMG I paid X for spinning planes that don’t take off!!!111.” I’m sorry but unless JustFlight have inside knowledge of the AI system, it’ll be the same mess we see now.

I agree, that would be awesome!

not sure if this has an impact on FSLTL as well: MAJOR ATC-Callsign parsing bug for Offline AI

I’m sure it does use default AI, and I’m sure you are correct. They mentioned something about having figured out how to get takeoffs looking better than default eg those flat takefoffs at 50ft for entire length of runway. Don’t know how, maybe some AIGround style intervention in the default system? But it will likely be limited in scope the same way AIGround is.

I still think back to Flight Unlimited 2 all those years ago, ATC vectors for traffic, actual separation of AI aircraft. Now, granted, that system really was rails based. Then FS2002 with flight dynamic values affecting the way they flew… to this, FS2020 with on rails AI that has the same logic as baddies on a Mario game.

Graphics have come a long long way but AI behaviour in all titles, not just FS, hasn’t really progressed that far.

LOL what are these people running pre 2010 computers? Biggest drops I got was no more than 10FPS at full stocked JFK. Everywhere else is minimal. Geezus.

We haven’t 100% made the decision to remove animations - we are still testing the benefits.

At the moment we would rather spend the time adding liveries, models and injector features that dual maintaining 2 model sets - even if scripted it comes with more testing etc.

Your idea wasn’t shot down - just not a priority for now.

At the end of the day everyone wants everything with free addons.
