Game crashes the moment the music starts

So this just started after I tried the VR. It worked nice, and then suddenly the game won’t load, crashes to desktop the moment the music starts playing.

I tried everything except reinstalling the whole windows - deleted the addons, reset the game, in the end I uninstalled the game and installed it again, and nothing, I just cannot use the game anymore.

Followed also this to the point, nothing helps.

Please, does someone have any Idea what’s happening, and what should I do?

SOLUTION:
Don’t try to reinstall the game or the windows! I did that since Asobo support is a disgrace, and they couldn’t be bothered even to hint on what’s the thing, or at least to say “stand by” or “hello, please wait” for a week now, so I did this as I gave up on the official “support” They really need some better quality control, or testing, it’s disgusting what’s done there now.
If the game breaks the moment the music starts and the loading circle shows, the solution is to make another windows account (email@outlook.com) and then to login to the windows xbox application using this account, instead of the main one. When you start the game, you should be able to get through the crash, and then in-game you can change back to your original account.
Sometimes this would be enough, but in another case I’ve found, you’ll need to do that every time, or just use the new xbox account.

Now… Why Asobo let that an xbox login problem crashes the game completely ungraciously, without even a hint on what may be the problem, that’s a completely different story. And I’m absolutely sure, that if someone who is working there would have just glanced through my request, (s)he would have immediately know what’s the problem, and helped me solve it, instead of me reinstalling the whole freaking windows, thinking it’s drivers, wondering if it’s hardware just to find out that it’s an xbox login issue.

Shame on you Asobo! You need to set up some quality control and support, this is not how you run a software company.
Your game has 2 stars in windows apps, and it’s not because of how you made the game but how you made everything else. Do you even care?

what did I do wrong, I don’t understand?

ok, sorry.

The problem for me is that the game never crashed during the flight or anything, as all the other posts. It simply refuses to start now and that’s it. Graphic card is cold, everything else is running normally.

  1. I uninstalled and then installed the MSFS fresh, deleting all data for this reason
  2. Windows is updated
  3. No updates in MS store

Graphic drivers - did a full wipe in safe mode and reinstall. However, there was no fresh updates or any installation before all of this. The game was running yesterday, it’s not running today.

I get the loading bar, it makes one circle with the music, stops and the game is no more.

i cant believe ive tried so much already…should we really have to be doing this
surely Asobo are aware of these issues…forget VR for now…i cant even get a constant load to main menu…let alone fly or fly VR
come on Asobo get ur hot fixes out

I saw somewhere somebody used afterburner to downclock his factory oc gpu…i was tempted to give it a try…buttttt
should we really be having to go backwards on out hardware due to one piece of software…i really would like to see how wonderful this sim is…but its full of issues atm and the CDTs are unbareable

Mine get to Actives on the load up screen then cancels out,., does anyone have any suggestion on fixing this

dont forget to try the removal of the cache file

I reinstalled the whole game. Plus all the drivers. Plus everything on the list on this email that the so-called support sends automatically without any follow-up.
Nothing helps.

I believe this was somehow triggered by me using VR shortly and then stopping to use it. Not sure how, not sure why.

I’m getting pretty ■■■■■■ for the game that costs 120€ + tons of money for the hardware around it.

hmmm… there is another thread where user have VR connected and then trouble.
But not sure whether it is realy same:

It was me creating that other thread you linked to and fact is I already tried without having my VR headset connected but still got the same error.

See here

yes.. I understood that @Celt1533 used one time VR and since then a strange issue exists.. also without VR.
( hope I not misunderstood that )

Ah, I see.

Well, would be almost a bit funny if using a VR headset when trying to install the version of MSFS with VR support would be the culprit

yeah :joy:

But, you know,.. we not find a solution, thus we need kind of “mystical causes” :joy:

PS: it annoys me that we couldn’t find the problem

Still waiting for MSFS support to get back to me on my ticket and whether they have a solution or rather prefer to offer me a refund.

It’s been 4 days here. Just the automatic reply and then silence. It’s really unprofessional from a team that makes something that first costs quite a bit, and then also has other investments in the equipment.
Really angry with the Asobo right now!

Vote this thing a bit. Although it’s pointless it seems.
