Game freeze when online functionality is switched on

I had been having a similar issue but I’m now having this exact problem after a clean install of the entire game. Freezes on every flight all of a sudden with networking enabled…

Looks like there was a n xbox app update today which appears to have fixed the issue?

I’m getting this same issue. Has anyone found a fix for this yet? Zendesk haven’t been much help. haven’t heard from them in over 2 weeks.Basically what I am finding is, I can load into the sim just fine as long as I have online data turned off. The second I go into the options and turn it on (with every single option within it turned to off) the sim crashes. So I can’t pin point it down to any part of the online functionality. It’s just that entire function of the sim is broken. If anyone can offer any insight it would be much appreciated

Since yesterday I have the exact problem described here. Everything was working fine until yesterday and I had not made any change to my setup since then.
I tried all mentioned fixes including a re-install of the game and opting in into the Beta - nothing helped (and I never had installed that google-mod).

What works for me as well is to open a new microsoft and XBox account and use that to log in to MSFS. Then MSFS works fine with online functionality. When I re-login with my old account, the problem occurs again.
Obviously that way I lose all my settings and progress as well as my purchases including the premium deluxe version (weird the basic games works at all when I did not purchase it with that account ?). So that is not really a solution (and it probably only works until the online functionality gets messed up with this account as well).

So any news on this?

I had the same problem for 7 months, the problem is that there is some corrupt file in the Zendesk cloud; supposedly I was going to fix it in the November 2021 update. The temporary solution was to create a new xbox account and log in with it in the MFS2020, only being able to use the base game, if you have the Delux version like me, you have to ■■■■ that they decide to fix it. This could be done until the last update was released now, and now you can only play with the xbox account with which you bought the game. So there is no possible solution, until the developers want to fix it. There are people who have been like this for almost a year and it is a problem that they do not fix it, it seems that it is not a priority that you play their ■■■■■■■ game.

eventually worked for me.

I encountered several issues when going through these instructions but finally succeeded to reset my cloud profile by pulling the internet plug from my pc while MSFS was loading which apparently made MSFS create a local profile instead of working with the cloud profile.
Key is that you get MSFS to ask for either LOCAL or CLOUD profile on the next start. Choose LOCAL and a new cloud profile will be created. Issue solved.

There should be an option in the MSFS data settings: “Reset Cloud profile”. That way such an issue could easily be handled.

Thanks for the info…I’ve encountered some similar issues but have been unable to get the sim to ask if I want a local or cloud save. At what point did you disconnect your PC from the internet? During the sim’s initial loading or when loading into a flight. thanks.

I may try this on my Xbox. I’m contacting Asobo one more time first to see if they can clear it on their end. I’d rather not lose settings and progress by resetting my cloud save but will if I have to.

Regarding resetting my cloud save on Xbox, could I just do this? Has anyone tried it this way?

How To Delete Cloud Saves on Xbox

  1. On Home, select My games & apps.
  2. Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, then select Manage game & add-ons.
  3. Select the Saved data box, then choose the item you want to delete.
  4. Delete it.

I deleted my cloud save and it made no difference. I trashed my game progress for nothing. Asobo remains silent on my tickets.
