GKS Mig-21Bis

Hi,

After the last update I find the plane has less power and struggles to takeoff, and after taking off with a veeeery long runway the plane can’t go pass Mach 0.96 or about.

Any ideas about what can be going on? It was working very nicely before the last update. (I’m on PC).

Thanks for the help!

I just did a flight and I didn’t notice anything too different. The external tanks do cause a lot of drag but that has been the case since it released. With the tanks dropped I can still easily go supersonic at sea level and Mach 2+ at altitude. Are you sure both stages of the AB are engaged?

Yes, I have both green lights in the panel, so I think both stages are on. I’ll test again, I think I tested at low altitudes and the external tanks were not dropped yet. I´ll keep you posted but thanks for checking, love the Mig-21 you guys are doing a very very nice job. Thanks!

Must be pilot error but I can’t get past Mach 0.970 at low levels without the external tank. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, maybe somebody can send me a quick list of things to check?
Thanks for the help!

Hmm I can definitely get to Mach 1 at sea level. I know for another plane I need a slight extremity dead zone on my throttle axis, and I use that same profile for the mig 21. If you haven’t, maybe set a 2-4% dead zone and see if that helps.

is there a way to get rid of the comm panel on the back left console?
IF not can you make it so we can pls

In my opinion, the best military plane available on xbox. however, it seems to me that the range of the plane is too short. With additional tanks, I can stay in the air for about an hour without using the afterburner. The Mig-21 bis with the tanks should easily make a two-hour flight.

Question: Is there a way to change the fuel in the plane? I spawn at 50% fuel which is the MSFS default but if I change it via the MSFS menu then it goes back to 50%… Any way to get full fuel on this plane?

@Al13X7895 any plans on improving the sound? I’m holding off buying until it has better sound

Please note that this depends on many factors.

For takeoff

– weight : with fully loaded outboard fuel tanks, MiGs are overweight. So it require a much longer runway and slow climb

  • whether condition (air temperature)
  • runway elevation

For landing:

– no fuel in external tanks
-landing speed (should be 380 km/h on approach and 320-300 km/h on touchdown)
– vertical speed 5 m/s
-full flaps
-use drag parashute right after landing

Do you mean transponder gauge?

The range of mig is around 2000 km which is very colose to real.
But to reach maximal distance you have to use right strategy

  • Full fuel load (3 external tanks)
  • Afterburner only for takeoff
  • Drop fuel tanks as soon as they become empty
  • Cruise above 13000 meters
  • N1 - 82% for speed 1.4 M

For Maximal speed - 2.1 M

  • Altitude between 13000 and 15000 meters
  • Afterburner 2nd stage
  • All external fuel tanks should be jetticed landing lights retracted

With full afterburner the flight time around 15-20 minutes

Hope it helps

The problem I have is that I can’t select full fuel on the MSFS screen it returns automatically to 50%.

Everything is clear, I have one more question. Is the oxygen system working properly? The gauge does not show breathing and the oxygen in the tanks is not depleting.

no, it is a the radio stack
