Global AI Ship Traffic V2 for MSFS

How it works in a close group multiplayer is that the leader of the group sets the time and everyone else will always have the same time/day (only the leader is allowed to manipulate the time and weather), but the ships still appear in different locations for everyone as if the time of the leader is not injected to everyone else in this mod.

Most likely it is a MSFS problem.

Moin, finaly Venice was so clever to stop these ugly swimming (DDR Plattenbauten) going thru the city.
Now they have to land near Mestre. In my FSX times I had “global ai ship traffic” too and the scenery Venice. the first thing I did was to change the default cruise ships with two of the gorch-class. Looks much better!!!

First ship converted to Native MSFS format with PBR and tested in the sim off Rio this morning :smiley: 1300 to go…

More than the change in the visual aspect, the performance impact now is 0…

Will these models prevent the CVT folder ( after 1300 done :grimacing: ) ?

yes, they will… the test above did not create a CVT folder so also a lot of space saved on the hard drive as a secondary positive effect

I do love this mod as it really helps flesh out the environments and there are lots of little surprises.

I was a bit puzzled by the huge cruise liner in the Thames though!

That is because that doesn’t come from the Global AI Ship Traffic… It is the default cruise ship, maybe it will go away if you reduce you AI ship settings to between 5 and 10% but no guarantee - the different routes in the default traffic has different settings.

Ah, my mistake. It’s the first time I’d ever seen it and must just a co-incidence the first time was post installing the mod.

I ended up doing a touch and go at St Barts yesterday as I was on final and then saw the tops of tall ship sails. Just had to chase it down and check it out. Thanks for making a mod that opens up little micro-adventures like that.

I suspect these are also non clippable…ie: you can land on them now?

Nothing will be released now, so no… but the intention is to have hard decks on those where they have hard decks in real life, but first thing is to get the different parts of the process controlled.

Part of it can, but that is unfortunately already included in the time estimate, but other parts can not without loosing quality. So this was the point in releasing the current version - to have something out there while I create a native version and we anyway have to wait for corrections from Asobo to issues like not having effects for AI ships enabled or AI ships not staying on the surface in elevated water surfaces like the Great Lakes,

Thank you so much for this. It’s a brilliant addon and all the more appreciated knowing how much work has gone into it and is still being put into it.

The models used are excellent, however when I see the ferries in particular I can’t help thinking they would be more realistic with some passengers and cars on them.

Do you want the pasengers to be smiling and waving at you as you fly past too?! Hey ho. There are no pedestrians in cities, no sunbathers in parks, why do you expect passengers on ships?

Keep going! This addon and Bijan’s 4-season pack are two of the best addons available, IMO (and this one is free!). They both fundamentally enhance the entire world of MSFS 2020. Much appreciated.
