Absolutely supersmooth to fly around.
Easy to control…nicely modelled. Extremly nice.
Thank you Heaven Designs. There could be more liveries for example the German Eurohawk Prototype or other countries. 5 liveries are included US Navy, USAF, NASA and two fictional camouflage schemes.
There seems to be a serious issue with this add-on, at least on Xbox. After about 2 hours of flying, the framerate drops to like 2-3 fps. It becomes unusable. Probably a memory leak or something. Since the developers have no contacts, I hope they read this and manage to fix it.
Now you can play a game that simulate your playing a game. LOL. :).
Just kidding this looks really interesting and something totally different. :). I may have to check it out. I wonder if in the real world drone pilots have to undergo the same training (or close to) as flying pilots? Thoughts?
The very reason I like this add-on is that it’s a completely different experience. Flying the drone is very easy but the bulk of the work is done by the autopilot. Cruising at 60,000 ft is an interesting experience for sure. Also, it just looks menacing and cool.
Check out their YouTube channel and maybe comment there:
I got a pretty quick answer to the question of a non-marketplace release which is sadly a no.
Really shame but as a PC player the limitations (can’t use with M3 for one) and slow update cycle prevent me buying it as well as difficulties in direct support as you’ve mentioned.
Maybe when it goes on sale.
They released the propeller variant on inibuilds so don’t know why they didn’t do the same with this one.
Thanks but the problem seems to be solved now. Sim Update 14 and the recent update for the Hawk most certainly cleared the issue. I also managed to get on the developers’ Discord and they’re a friendly and awesome team, we discussed performance a lot and they’re extremely helpful. Smooth sailing now, I can only recommend their drones.
Other than that a fun bird to fly. Couldn’t find anything that didn’t seem to work besides the above.
I do think that some of the default camera views co do with some tweaking but a lot of that would be personal preference.
If it was possible to get a few extra features, I’d like to see:
Ability to switch the individual screen views, specifically the night view able to be used on the pilot side
RNAV on the GPS/Autopilot would be nice. I was able to get the GPS to track an approach but had to manually change the altitude as I passed through until it locked onto the GS. I would guess a drone this advanced would not only be able to do this probably be able to auto-land as well for IFR conditions.
External texturing of the “ground station”. Can’t remember which view it was but at least one showed just a black box. For cinematics, it would be useful to also see the outside if only when the aircraft is on the ground…a bit like some aircraft do for the Ground Power Unit or custom fuel trucks.
PMS50 integration. Definitely a stretch as this is marketplace only but if would be a nice addition for PC users, it already has Navigraph and Simbrief so thought I’d ask
