Honeycomb bravo throttle, delayed again for me

Just to note they are now out of stock. I ordered one last night (stumbled across them doing a google search - wish I had seen this thread first as I could have got my order in 24 hours sooner!) and they will be shipping it to me in Canada hopefully today or tomorrow. Be aware shipping charges are high if you are buying from outside the US ($115 for me), but they confirmed to me all charges before charging the card.

Well looks like Mypilotstore did the dirty on me.
I placed my order on Wednesday at 20:23EST.
I got an email from them on Thursday at 10:24EST saying that the Bravo was in stock and available to ship. As I was in Canada I had to approve the shipping charges which I did at 11:28EST.

My order has been stuck on “Submitted” but no charge or ship notification. 2 Emails have been ignored.
So I called and asked what was going on.
Now I get told they are out of stock, and I have to wait for them to get them back in again.
I asked how that could be given the timeline involved and I got a story about how there was a big batch of orders before mine and they ran out of stock.
This is despite me being told 14 hours after I placed my order that they had them available!

My guess is because my order was an international one they just kicked my order out and sent it to someone domestic instead as it would be less hassle for them.

Severely disappointed.

Sorry to hear that. Shipping to Canada can be a hassle. One of my daughters needs an immunosuppresive medicine and was going to be in Canada for several months a few years ago. Her online pharmacy does not accept orders outside the U.S. so she had the bright idea that she’d ship it to us in Texas (!) and we’d ship it to her in Canada. I tried FedEx Ground and the shipping clerk at the local drop-off point said nothing to me, even helping me fill out the customs form. When it got to the U.S.-Canadian border because of ambiguity as to whether it was a commercial shipment or one to satisfy a personal medical need, the shipment was refused entry to Canada (I think by FedEX own in-house customs “experts” as they didn’t want to incur legal liability for an illegal import under Canadian law). Before I could get a signed declaration from my daughter, FedEX put it on a truck to return to Texas and refused to get it off a truck or out of a processing facility at any of a number of stops along the way back to Texas.

What I ended up doing was to reship the package to a FedEx facility near the Canadian border where my daughter was staying. She rented a car, drove into the U.S. from Canada, picked the package up from the FedEX store, and got through Canadian customs as she could prove through her passport, etc., that she was indeed the person in the flesh whom the medications were intended for. I think she even got some sort of incredible rental car off-season deal for the day, too!

So it sounds like MyPilotStore treated you badly but maybe if you were close to a FedEX facility in the U.S., you could think about whether it would be worth it to attempt a similar stunt if there is some place in the U.S. that could supply you reliably with a HoneyComb Throttle Quadrant. I got mine today from MyPilotStore and perhaps my order went through as I had requested to be notified of availability back in September so if they were checking that off, I passed muster.

Email received this morning from Honeycomb that explains the hold up folks =

We wanted to give you all an update on what’s going on with the production of the Alpha Flight Controls and the Bravo Throttle Quadrant. First of all, we want to apologize to the many of you who still haven’t been able to purchase our products due to lack of inventory. We are producing at max capacity but are facing several problems which are impacting availability:

-The whole electronics industry is facing severe component shortages and we are especially hard hit as some of our components now have a lead time of 6 – 7 months. We originally had a backup inventory of those long lead time components but that has been depleted as well which means that our production schedule is dependent on when we get replenishments from our suppliers.

-There is an extreme shortage of container availability
from Asia as well which means that we sometimes have to wait several weeks for availability to ship products to our resellers.

We have allocated some of our inventory to ship directly to customers from Hong Kong and only charge 30% of the actual FedEx cost to our customers, but they are sold out almost as quickly as we make them available in our shop.

With that being said, shipments are on their way to our resellers, and we will have more units available to purchase very soon. We are truly thankful for your continued support and hope you continue to fly with us.

Thank you,

PS. We will post an update on tech support issues and solutions in the next few days.

Right now the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant web page says “Estimated restock before April.”
Only ~2.5 weeks away but enough for the demand?

BRAVO THROTTLE QUADRANT – Honeycomb Aeronautical (flyhoneycomb.com)

Not anymore! I got an e-mail from them, and immediately went to their site - “Sorry - All Gone!”

Is there anyone who hasn’t been able to even get a pre-order yet in the US?

Finally my Bravo should come in two weeks, bought in January (I’m EU based)

Lucky you!
I am UK based and ordered in September last year from amazon.co.uk. Delivery date originally was October 2020, then pushed forward on several occasions until in Dec 2020 I was advised they did not know when it would be available, so am still waiting.
Can I ask where you ordered yours from? I’m very happy to order from EU or thereabouts, not so keen on USA or Far East.
Thanks, Alasdair (aka Flybasher
)

I did the same in August (ordered on amazon.co.uk), I then cancelled the order in january after all the delays (and the fact I had to pay custom clearances now) and pre ordered on Aerosoft (where I had already bought the Alpha)

Thanks for this. I also purchased my Alpha from Aerosoft last year. Have just looked on their website and Bravo is shown as “Out of stock”, so I will probably just have to wait until it becomes available again somewhere.
Regards, Alasdair

It showed “back in Spring 2021” until few weeks ago, so they probably sold out on preorder

Just hope that they aren’t all holed up in Suez at the moment. My nightmare scenario.

Finally gave up. Cancelled my UK Amazon order for the Bravo (late Oct), so one less in the list for Amazon to fulfill.

Ordered a Logitech quadrant arriving Saturday, can always sell it on later if/when Bravos become more readily available.

My luck dictates that the Bravo will now come into stock in the UK. You’re welcome. lol

Same I did, bought a logitech throttle to wait for the Bravo, serving me faithfully still
Sadly I have no news on my shipment which should have come this week

Where are you located, in the US?

Italy here

Ah okay. Love Italy, was in San Pietro in Cariano in 2019, before the world changed. Gorgeous country.

Sorry man, got this from Aerosoft:

"Hello Sir,

Thank you for the request.

As soon as the next conatiner arrives, we will ship your order. Unfortunately there is a delay because of the ship which blocked the Suez canal. Currently we expect a delivery at the end of April/beginning of May."
:worried:

Yeah I live not too far from Venice
