Honeycomb Echo Flight Controller

Coming to PC’s in December and Consoles in 2026

This looks very interesting. I would not mind a mobile flight sim solution like this.

I thought so, especially for consoles.

I’ve used Sunshine/Moonlight and an X-Box Controller before, to play remotely.

That looks like this might suit that situation if you are miles away.

They made a critical design error with the updated version (they’d shown an earlier prototype) that’s a purchase-killer for me: The view control is on the left, above the control stick. This makes it impossible to adjust the view while controlling the plane, as they both use the same hand.

If the view control was on the right, you could pan while in the pattern, on final, etc. As it is, you either have to remove your thumb from the control stick to pan, or you need to be a Motie.

I love the idea of this, and I’d considered a Yawman for use when traveling (but it’s crazy expensive). This is pricey but a bit more reasonable. But unless they fix this, it’s a no-go.

Could you not use a mouse as well?

Defeats the purpose of the controller! Also, these kinds of controllers are really designed to be held with both hands.

I’m playing on a Mac Mini via GeForce Now using an XBox Controller - it’s amazing. Assuming I could use this would be fantastic.

Anyone take a chance and order one?
Thinking about it because of limited space. I use a Velocity One Flightstick now but this promises controls for everything including multiple throttles. The comment about location of view controls is a concern.

Canʻt find any reviews of the final shipping product that havenʻt been deleted.

It is only for PC and Mac for the moment. £130.00.

I actually have no real intention of buying it, but I am somehow intrigued of it. The missing right thumb stick/view control is a bit odd, nonetheless I like the approach and the amount of functions without taking much space…

I was thinking that this thing might be a good choice for some arcade-style sims, but those are developped with a classic controller in mind so I am not sure if it might be benefical after all

Yes, there is a R thumb stick issue. That needed to be there ta aid views. That is the one thing that would prevent me ever buying it. I do like the throttle etc. It’s a good direction but not complete yet.

Would it work with Geforce Now?

It’s new, I’m not sure anyone knows yet. Maybe if you asked in honeycomb forum? Be great if you fed back here any answer you were given :ok_hand: :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes it does - has all the same control attributes as an XBOX controller, which I use on GeForce Now on a M1 Mac Mini and it works great. No issues at all.

It’s sold out, but I’m selling a brand new one in an unopened box on eBay

I ordered my controller on December 20 on the Honeycomb website and received it today. I’ve already unboxed it and it looks like a high-quality product. However, I won’t be able to test it until tomorrow or the day after. There are six downloadable profiles in XML format on the Honeycomb website. Maybe someone knows which folder I need to copy them to. The package includes instructions, but they don’t provide any details. There are no details on the website either.

The most important question about this controller: How are the sliders?

Are they quality stuff? I hope they are smooth but easy to move so that you have the best possible precision.

If you want realistic panning…TrackIR is a MUST!!! Defeats this concern for me.
