All the major land marks are missing.
Sydney is missing the sydney harbour bridge, and all the main buildings… Airport is rubbish
Melbourne is missing all its buildings, even the main train station, tallest building in sothern hemisphere. the art centre its all missing.
And Melbourne Airport is a disaster… what a mess of an airport.
does anyone know when this will be cleaned up? Even google maps has all this stuff correctly done in 3D Maps, why is bing / flight sim so far behind?

Yeah, I am from Oz, and I think we just have to wait. So much of Australia is great though in the Sim and I am loving it, especially the outback and the bush and some of the islands and coast, and many of the towns. Cheers.

Newcastle is crazy good, down to seeing my car parked outside my house! JB Hifi at the shops, Bunnings, etc. Its a shame Sydney, Melbourne, etc isn’t up to standard yet, but I’m sure it will be soon. Even so, it still beats the heck out of default FSX or P3D.

It depends, have you noted the issues in Zendesk like Asobo asked you to? If not then it may never get cleaned up.
As for saying “How bad is Australia!”. Adelaide and many other places I’ve been have looked fantastic.
I’m not sure what you’re expectations were but this is generated from a satellite photos. Every building in the world is not hand crafted. If this is “bad” what do you think of X-Plane or FSX!?

mate even FSX had the buildings right in Melbourne and Sydney, especially the harbor bridge

That may be, but I take the whole thing into consideration and not just a few small bits.
X-Plane how power lines and MSFS doesn’t so yeah, there are gaps. But I don’t think it is horrible just because of that when even at 1.0 it has so much more.
To be specific. The post is “How bad is Australia!”. Not “How bad are some buildings in Melbourne (and Sydney)!”.

As a fellow Oz flyer I’m inclined to agree re Sydney landmarks. What the sim does convey though is the size and spread of Sydney, something no other sim has yet achieved. It now resembles what I saw as I arrived or departed the city when real air travel existed.
Another thing to remember is that the present offering in FS2020 gives scope for Orbx and other developers to give us the landmark packs and the advanced airports. Australia is quite wonderful in most respects so far as country and outback areas are concerned.

I wonder if the programers even tried flying in Melbourne when they did it… check out this world tallest building out in the suburbs ROFL

Yeah, reported this in the Forum and as a bug in the alpha and again in the beta. The Zendesk reporting system says solved so I guess it will eventually work its way through to us. Hey, wouldn’t mind the penthouse! Cheers.
Perhaps the game is to get you to buy add on crafted cities and airports to keep the money train going. Just a thought.
Have a look at Perth missing bridges
Brisbane seems to be missing a few bridges but most stark of all is the absence of the new runway and associated infrastructure… looking forward to seeing it included in a future update.
yeah I’m from Newy and its awesome (besides the breakwall area)
Harbour Bridge is apparently a licensing issue… but yeah the issue is that most of Australia has no photogrammatry in bing maps.
We will have to wait for orbx products.
agreed. I think people are over reacting. It’s still pretty good. Just needs some good third party addons.

Thanks @flightlevel300. Did you do the Aussie WA group flight tonight? It was great fun. Cheers.
