I skip most of the flights. Because flying the default Cessna is going to take forever. Over an hour for each mission. So what should I do? I have unlocked the 3 first specializations but now I’m broke after getting my PPL and CPL
You need to do missions to earn CR
You don’t earn enough that’s my point
I do the sightseeing tours, and skip the ground stuff but not the flying. Like you said, takes about 45-1hr but I feel those ones bring in a fair amount.
Also, being careful pays. You get massive XP boosts and credit boosts. I’m already level 38 and I have not played a crazy amount.
Once you are prompted to start a company, I recommend doing that right away. You’ll have to start back with the Cessna, but I brought in over 40K on 1 job since I was cutting out the middleman. There also seems to be a passive “crew” system but I don’t have much time with that.
I seem to be stuck on 3000 cr in Career mode? It doesn’t matter what I do from a mission perspective, I just don’t earn credits. I seem to be earning XP.
I guess you are trying to fly those helicopter missions you’ve seen in the trailer and was looking forward to them, just like me.
As expected, it is not that easy as all the fanboys was telling here before the release, like “oh, you can just do a few checkrides and you can do missions, what is your problem”.
No way, my friend, no matter if you paid a lot of money for this software, you won’t get the content MS promised in the trailer, unless you suffer. A lot.
You are not paid for First Flight missions, you can only earn money if you do your CPL. Which will cost you 2500 cr, and now you have only 500, which means you need to make another 3000 to make your rotorcraft license. Yes, flying stupid missions in a C172, for a 30 minute mission I’m getting like 800-900, meaning just to get my rotorcraft license, I have to fly hours in a C172 and endure all those idiotic chats.
This is a bitter disappointment, worse than I expected. Whoever came up with this, must be fired, immediately. We want access to missions outside of the career mode.
Can’t wait until the community comes up with a mod to workaround this madness.
The official recommended way of course is by purchasing the not yet online feature of “simcoins”
Or treat it as some East European F2P game, and grind it like a bot for thousands of hours that takes away all the enjoyment.
Unfortunately, the community cannot come up with anything relating to the career mode.
The career data is all server-side, and Asobo has made it clear that no such add-ons would allowed as they hate ‘cheaters’ (aka those who do not pay them simcoins).
This. Don’t skip stuff, taxi and fly carefully with smooth landings and it’ll reward with <1,000cr per trip.
I can now afford my Rotorcraft test (once I’ve re-bound the control settings).
Sounds like you want Career mode to be over in a day. The goal is to work toward something. It’s the same thing in IRL. you need to do 1500 hours of IFR flight before you are alone to fly an airliner.
Once you get a few certification done and you keep a good reputation, you will have much better payday. Eventually , you will unlock your own company and you will be able to make a lot more credits but if you crash, it will cost you.
Career mode is exactly what it needs to be. You just need to suck it up and climb that ladder.
Oh, no, you misunderstand me, there is nothing wrong with career mode. It can stay as it is, I have no problem with that, and me and others stated that like 1000 times here.
The problem is not the career mode, the problem is that missions aren’t available outside of the career mode.
Whoever wants career mode, have fun, climb whatever ladder you want.
I played all kinds of Hype H145 missions (HEMS, logging, etc.) on FS2020 and was looking forward to all these activities and aerial application, etc. in FS2024.
What I got is a torture I need to endure to get there.
ah I got you. Yes, that would be cool if you can do them in multiplayer too. I got you.
Sure. And then you can spend another few hours flying idiots around, making idiotic remarks about how small everything is down below to earn money and reputation to get to the fun stuff.
Reputation is another great thing, you get punished for using the runway to taxi, instead of following the taxi marks over a bumpy, grassy terrain with 3 feet deep ditches.
Still wondering what the business model is. Who wins by not allowing users flying missions outside of the career mode.
so anyone have any tips on how to earn money fast?
if the long flights are too much you can set a button for increase and decrease sim speed, gets you the full no skip bonus’. just be careful as planes sometimes get unstable when using the higher settings
Just realized what you were saying. Of course. Now it makes sense at least from the business perspective. From the shady business perspective.
There are some really long cargo missions that will earn you 7000-8000 credits. They require you to fly 150nm. By not skipping these, but rather increasing the sim-rate a couple of steps, they are done quite fast. As long as you stabilise your plane with proper trim, it’s no problem flying at x4 speed or more. Doing it that way, not skipping any part of the mission, you’ll earn 8000-9000 credits and about 300000 XP per mission.
Just be aware that the De Havilland Beaver has a fuel issue on these missions, but with “proper” fuel mixture and pitch trim on the propeller, it can be done. The safest method is to opt for the Cessna missions.
I’m okay with the money you will earn at the beginning. I enjoy that as a sim, not a game, so the money is ok. But it’s a bit boring to fly only sightseeing tours at the beginning. We need more variations, like flying a person from A to B.
I’m at level 12 now and can only do sightseeing tours in my area. Other jobs are so far away from my area
Don’t know if it’s possible, but best is to setup a light cargo company instead of the first unlocked first flight missions.
