How to create cockpit rendered views

I am a first time user of MSFS 2024. Hve been using MSFS 2020 with a home built cockpit. I have 5 Monitors for cockpit views. The alignment of rendered views (I can add 4) is most difficult.

Can someone please answer the questions:

  1. How to have these views in the cockpit camera instead of external view?
  2. How to stop the views from rotating?
  3. How to get behind the settings screen to view the position of the main screen?

DrDave, I feel your pain… With 3 displays.

I guess you’re wanting to see the cockpit view instead of the rotating external view when adjusting the position etc. of the views. Well, that isn’t implemented as far as I understand.

Also, I understand that isn’t implemented. :sob:

Sorry, but… Yep, not implemented! :scream:

There’s probably a wishlist post that we can vote on. here are a few I found.

Hi there @DrDave9011

The screen keep rotating,
Here is my sugestion:
From mainscreen set fov and zoom and translate left or right to your liking in general settings–>camera screen and from there it starts.

Create a first window i should have the exact same settings as the mainscreen. And put this first screen in the middle monitor. ( drag the mainscreen to the right monitor)
Now create the left screen on the left monitor and rotate pan until all matches while it rotates
( Hint hover with the mouse over the slider and use arrow left or right to set incrementals of 0.1
Left for minus and right for plus)
When satisfied you do the same for the right monitor but drag main screen to the left monitor
And start the procedure described as above again but for right screen setup.

Now you have two mainscreens so main screen original as 0 and first created same window as 1
Left screen as window 2 and right screen as 3
So what is next drag the original to middlemonitor again
And exit the sim.
Open usercfg and see how windows are there in top section.
If this usercfg.opt is not marked as read only than use the save as option to backup the file like
Something like bupusercfg.opt. and close this.
( use as start for the work u did already, is not waste of time when something is missing)

Now open up the orginal usercfg.opt again (not the renamed backup)
And edit the windows.
Remember mainscreen and its first created identical window numbered as 0
This section needs to be removed.
While the ones that are left can be renamed like 1–>0 , 2–>1 , and 3–>2 and so on.
(Check if all numbers are changed for their complete section)
Then save the file with its original name usercfg.opt. if so make also a backup of this file in case things go south.

Now start up the sim and start a freeflight.
If it set properly to your like you can now zoom pan translate anyway you like. Even chance aircraft to devmode aircraft selector ingame all to the right proportions.

Have fun

Thank you, highly appreciated. I assume you mean with “From mainscreen set fov and zoom” is in the cockpit or where? I am new to 2024. Much experience with 2020. Is mainscreen the Main Menu? Is so, which choice?

How does one stop the rotating?

  1. You must use Cockpit views.
The control “Cockpit/External View Mode” will switch the screen from cockpit view to External view. It is a toggle.
It is mapped to the “END” key for the 2020 Transversal .

The Cockpit View “Look” controls map to the views.
“Look” right or left will rotate the view.

  1. Use “Translate” to map the control to move right or left without rotating the view.

  1. I don’t understand the question.

@DrDave9011

From mainscreen that is the screen in the middle front and in cockpitview ,
From this you set your position according to your own comfortable view to the left or the right, zoom in or out.

The reason i wrote my earlier post with the setup of 3 or more monitor with extra window in middle is to make it easier to adapt view with these rotations that means it have to be close to the monitor bezels and when the roads cross in the rotation it is easier to fit the roads or buildings without having the ui screen blocking your frontviewpoint aka mainscreen monitor

Unfortunatly the rotation from in cockpitview perspective wont stop, but i know you can do it
before entering/select flight, so i mean de first screen with the world on it and selections for flight like career marketplace etc.
This screen wont rotate.

Im at work atm so im sorry if this is messy written,
