Sadly nothing is working. Neither opentrack (it seems that it has no connection to 2024) nor David Backetts video (laggs as sh… and can’t look to the right)

I did the XML file edit trick and it was working yesterday and on first launch of the sim today.

I quit and reloaded the sim, just now, and it no longer works. The default ā€œTobiiā€ eye-tracking only profile works, but my custom profiles do not.

Also, anyone else get a CTD trying to set a profile as default or apply to all aircraft?

(my god, this sim is so unreal buggy)

A lot of people are giving work arounds for head tracking,my point is WE SHOULDN’T HAVE TO!!We paid for the sim and should expect things that worked in 2020 should work in 2024,but they don’t.My sound is broken, when I can hear something it sounds like its coming through water.I have abandoned it for now,but I’m not holding my breath for fixes to come anytime soon.maybe in 2026…

Moderator Edit:
I’m using FacetracknoIR in the meantime and this
works perfectly while waiting for the TOBII to work

J’utilise FacetracknoIR en attendant et cela
fonctionne parfaitement en attendant qle TOBII Fonctionne

I discovered this post and edited my decimal placed entries in the XML file and it fixed my issue.

Don’t ask me why it worked in the first place, I have zero guesses.

Did you install and start the tobii gaming hub?

Tobii gaming hub must be installed and started.

Yes, it was installed and started. For some of us the Tobii instructions aren’t exactly correct.

I have it working with the tobii gaming hub and udp in the top off opentrack, but i have it also working without the gaming hub and in opentrack tobii eyetracker in the first option, but then you have to adjust all the mappings. On youtube is a video about it. I will have a look if i can find it and come back if i found it.

Found it,

Look at this youtube video this might help you.

I’ve been using opentrack since msfs2020 (with tobii 5), but with 2024 I noticed a huge lag when panning. Annoying.

Mark from Simhanger posted a new video on the latest Tobii update.

Not having reliable Tobii head tracking in 2024 is one of the things on my must fix list before repurchasing the new sim. Maybe that’s now off the list?

Still a workaround, to be sure, but a considerably better one than manually editing the .xml file.

Has anyone found a workaround with the ā€œreset eye trackingā€ binding, where it doesn’t always put it back to the ā€œcentreā€ view but off on an angle?

Yes, and I haven’t figured out how or why it seems to magically correct itself, too.

Suddenly it is centered.
