I love the Cessna 152. I just do

Why only that? Do you think every other plane is not worthy? Have you tried?

thx for the hint

I like doing both. I’m an instrument pilot in real life and I like IFR with RNAV approaches (although I never, ever fly ā€œdirectā€), but when I fly the 152 I use ForeFlight for traffic and navigate by site. I basically only fly in the Caribbean, so all flights are essentially a straight line from island to island whether you’re flying with a GPS or not.

In the 100 hours I’ve flown MSFS I’ve probably used an autopilot for a few hours, and most of that was in the sim 5 beta.

Yeah, just ask. I’ve been on the network for ~12 years myself and there are times I do have to step away and if I don’t have an AP to take over for me I simply ask if I can pause for a moment. I mean as long as it’s not really all that busy a controller is generally not going to mind.

Some other aircraft are pretty neat (such as the G36 with the mod) however for me personally I like the 152 with the mod the most. Despite my passion for flying VFR flying under IFR and performing non-RNAV SIDs, STARs, navigating airways off of VOR radials and DME with a chart in my hand, shooting precision and and non-precision approaches, holding over VORs, NDBs in a cockpit that is totally steam gauge is just a whole lot of fun, it just feels very rewarding especially in IMC.

I like the 152 so much that I undoubtedly will be getting the Just Flight version the day it comes out. Right now I am using the mod as a stop gap till that happens. Though to be honest I’m sure I will still be using the mod at times flight under VFR is simply not possible as the Just Flight 152 is limited to flight under VFR only (of which I love flying under on the VATSIM network). This is going to depend on factors such as if the weather calls for IMC in the area I want to fly during a big event on the network.

Another thing is virtually all of the aircraft I have in XP and P3D are quite high in fidelity, I can’t stand stock aircraft personally. Ever since I got myself an A2A aircraft it’s always been quality over quantity for me and why I stopped getting Carenado / Alabeo aircraft (unless a mod is out there for them of which I have the SimCoders and Nhadrian) and why I am willing to throw $45 at the Just Flight 152 (I assume it will be that much) when it comes out despite the mod existing.

Very welcome!

Going to give the 152 a try… Reminds me first learning in FSX but with a LOT better scenery. Any mods people suggest?? Most comments I’ve read they say it’s pretty decent. I did see one comment about JPLogistics mod.

I love the C152 aswell.
What does this JPLogistics mod improve generally? Is there a short summary of the included improvements?

Here is the link for it, with this good of reviews figured might as well go with it…

EDIT: Disregard.

I get the 152 love fest now. What a fun plane to fly, and lack of AP you need to stay focused. No browsing the internet at FL350. Really felt like the few hours I had in a real 152. I’m hooked. Added bonus, since I was hand flying so much I realized my yoke has a center/dead zone issue. It’s always bugged me, but wasn’t sure the issue, but normally I was on AP. I was able to dial it in with the settings now I can trim it nice and straight. Mods: Bijan & JPLogisitcs (Not the latest Bijan version, hoping the new one fixes the green trees in the city)

Did a little North Carolina aerial sightseeing…

Completely agree with OP. This plane has been my go to plane since the beginning and will stay that way. Easy on FPS to. Great in VR. Flying it with the JPLogistics mod.

The one exception is the Alabeo Seminole in P3D. That aircraft is exceptional. And I too LOVE the Just Flight 152!!!

I fly it straight up, no mod. I honestly just don’t see anything that needs to be improved, though I would like the instrument backlighting. That’s literally the only thing I would want.

Nice aircraft.

Like the real life model, you need to fly it every second you’re in the air.

No auto pilot teaches good discipline.

It flies nice, has good visibility and needs no mods.

How long do you think it will be in service for? I have only flown a few (Disclaimer not a pilot, not had lessons) with a pilot from my local airport Shoreham. Correct me if I am wrong..but its the trainer for UK pilots. But I love it in every sim…I go from Shoreham to Le-touquet for lunch (in my sim of course)

Aircraft (especially ones that don’t accumulate cycles) don’t age like your typical vehicle. The 152 is going to be around for a long time despite not being produced anymore. You can actually get yourself a 152 that is ā€œlike newā€, check this out…

It would be my dream, honestly but when I looked at lessons flying a plane let alone owning it in UK..yeah it was affordable..but no holidays, no Christmas for my nephews and niece’s…then weather VFR in uk must be difficult.:thinking:…First thing would be divorce..so sadly I stick with a home flight sim

Yeah, I would love to own a ā€œlike newā€ 152 but no way would I toss $164,000+ at one, haha.

Funny fact - N150UC (Reimagined Cessna 150) is based at a local airport less than 10 miles from me.

Its also the cost of keeping it in a hangar
