iFly 737 MAX Discussion

Sounds like there’s no difference between true heading, magnetic heading and course.

I was planning a WestJet flight from Dublin to St. John’s , about a 5 hour flight over the Atlantic. A pity if it’s not able to do that.

I’ve personally had no issues in real time.

Yeah, no issues with 1x speed, lnav starts to get wonky at 2x speed.

I’ve mostly had success flying trans-Atlantic at 2x speed, only once it overshot the TOD heading from CDG-YHZ and ended up pausing the flight somewhere in New England.

But generally 2x works for me, hopefully they can improve things to at least allow 4x.

So this is officially compatible with ‘24?

Have a look at the product page, which has their official statement: Flight1.com - Flight Simulator Add-ons for FSX and Prepar3D

For what it’s worth, I fly it in 2024 all the time and have had no major issues.

If you’re on the mainline SU3 release, basically yes. If you’re in the SU4 beta, not currently.

I would just add its performance is a bit lower than the other major airliners… Other than that, it’s terrific.

Can anyone confirm if the iFly 737 Max is working with sim update 4 1.6.7?

mine isn’t

you have wrong version

I just downloaded it first time. It cannot be newer than mine? Ver 1.0.4.3 hangs the sim on the opening screen in Free Flight where we select aircraft/airport. We can select the 7373 Max but when we click Fly Now, the sim hangs on the fly-by zoom to aircraft.

iFly is not compatible with the SU4 beta.

Thanks. I also received confirmation from iFly themselves. Oh well…should have checked before buying

Working again 1.6.11.

SimAppPro is “locked” by device - you can’t use the PFP 7 (like I have) with any other aircraft besides one of the supported 777 models (for me, that’s the PMDG 777-300ER and 777F; the 777-200ER is still unsupported). If I stick to SimAppPro, I cannot use my PFP 7 with the iFly MAX, the PMDG 737NGs or anything else. Similarly, if you own the PFP 3N and stick with SimAppPro, you cannot use that device with a 777.

However, using a proper Mobiiflight profile, you can use whichever specific Winwing FMC/MCDU unit you own with whatever aircraft you want, provided there are ways to interface with it. That means I can use this PFP 7 with the iFly, the PMDG 737 line, or anything else I’m willing and able to figure out how to interface it with. Heck, I could use it as an Airbus MCDU if I wanted (but I don’t typically like flying Airbus stuff).

The two main limitations of using Mobiflight instead of SimAppPro are: 1) you cannot use custom fonts; and 2) the BRT+ and BRT- buttons only affect the brightness of the virtual cockpit FMCs, not the the hardware unit brightness.

Hi,

I just read your post. I own a PFP 7 since two weeks now and I absolutely see the problem you are adressing.
Is there a way that you can share the information how you succeeded in getting the display to work with other airplanes than the 777?

I would rather appreciate that.

I am using Mobiflight with a profile I created myself. I know others are doing the same using other interface software like Spad or Axes & Ohs. If you’ve never used these programs before, I would suggest asking on the Flight1 Discord, or those of whatever software you’re interested in using. It’s not difficult but it’s also more involved than I have time to write up in a single forum post.

I am using Mobiflight myself and created several profiles for PMDG 777-300 ER and Horizon Simulations 787-9. So I added the possibility fo operate switches, buttons and rotary encoders from my touchbased ipad beside the use of my PFP-7.

For the 787 I had to find input events because Mobiflight only provides some light events. I even succeeded to build a workaround together with autohotkey to operate the originally menu/mouse button based operation of the CDU of the 787 (for which no input events exist) with the buttons of the PFP-7.

But I never got the display of the PFP-7 to work in the 787.

So my special question is about how you got the display of the PFP-7 to work with Mobilflight with other aircraft than the 777.

I’m not so sure it’s working properly in SU4 still. I’ve had two out of two freezes whilst flying the IFly one at the start of the flight and one on finals. Granted I was in VR. Didn’t know if it was an SU4 thing or the iFly at the time. I’ve now just completed two successful flights in the ini A350 also in VR with no problems.
