What are your system specs?

24th august

I hope they fix this bug soon if it’s really broken (haven’t noticed it). I have custom settings (some stuff on high, other in ultra) and it would a massive pain in the rear to have to reset this everytime.

I have just flown into Naples LIRN and no airport buildings just jet ways. All settings in ultra. I restarted the sim and did not change settings and loaded into Naples and all the buildings appeared with jetways attached.

Seems to vary depending on how long I have been flying. Same thing for the annoying stutters that sometimes kick the Auto Pilot off on the A320NX FBW.

I just want to fly and it work for once without any issues.

Hm, you may be on to something!

settings don’t stick https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/nLP03CVXWbw

I tried the same here, i thought it was a placebo effect and same old omg i found a fix kinda thing.
But it’s an actual issue

Missing airport buildings is, I think, a completely different issue.

For those seeing this, try uninstalling World Update 3 (UK). I found that this brought back a lot of missing autogen in the UK, along with any missing airport buildings I’d seen too.

same here and have been for past week

I might try this just to see if it helps the tree pop in, which I find particularly bad in the UK for some reason. I don’t know if it’s because there are so many hedgerows - ie thin tree lines where it is super obvious when some of them appear close by, whereas it might not be so obvious when some appear in a dense forest - or a particular bug of the sim.

Do you know if the building issue is solved after WUUK reinstallation, or must it be kept uninstalled?

Reinstalling doesn’t seem to help, but I think I;m getting some weird results. Will post some screenshots - things seme to change “in flight” which is really odd. Can’t quite work it out!

Some screenshots of the autogen issue in Edinburgh that I suspect is unrelated to the settings issue (so I will post elsewhere too).

WU3 uninstalled, settings ultra (toggled low/ultra but made no difference). 4 shots at 90 degress from the same spot in the Royal Mile Edinburgh (I live here, so i know it very well)

Note the church circled in red in the first picture is flat - no autogen

Now we’ll drone over to the airport, taking in the Gyle shopping centre and some 2-3 story office buildings on the way - these all look like good autogen

(airport buildings intact + the freeware mod I use for the multistory carpark and control tower working fine)

And now back to the Castle area, via a couple of example autogen populated street areas that look perfectly fine

And then the church near the castle again, just to check (you’ll see why below)

OK, so now what happens when I install WU3, settings on Ultra.

Here’s the same 4 angles near the castle

Note the church now - much better!

The weird thing is that this is an autogen building, not photogrammetry and I’m pretty sure it’s not a handcrafted point of interest. But somehow, with WU3 installed, I’m now getting this building. Compare that to the first shot above.

Note also the floating castle (but at least we have a castle):

I now do the same drone trip over to Edinburgh Airport via the Gyle/Office blocks
Here’s a flat Gyle Centre:

And the nearby 2-3 story offices - some flat, some not

And here’s the airport, with missing terminal buildings (the freeware add on still shows the multistory carpark and control tower you can see)

Now let’s go back to the Castle area and the same two street areas we checked before

One is flat:

The other is not:

And now we enter the “Twilight Zone” (cue music) THIS IS THE SAME FLIGHT - just minutes later - I’ve zipped over to the airport and back…and this is now those same angles over the Royal Mile as before:

It now looks worse than without WU3 (compare the pictures with the red circles on the church):

I really have no idea what’s going on here!

This is a bit off topic here in the thread, sorry for that:

At least here I can give some hint: With each world update, they add new autogen building models. In WU3 it were various churches (among others).

Before WU3 was released, probably the cloud provided information about some generic building and the sim rendered an office building or something like that.
Since WU3 the cloud provides a different instruction, to show a specific model of a church that is contained in the WU3 package.

If you uninstall the WU3 package, the sim has no model for it and thus doesn’t render a building (doesn’t seem to fall back to another, generic one).

Yes, that would explain some of this…albeit not why it shows that church with WU3 installed but then, later in the same flight, doesn’t.

See more at this thread here so as to no distract this one any longer:
