I would like to know if people with CTD are getting them with other aircraft as well. Most of the people will get CTD from time to time, but so many complains suggests there is really something wrong with the aircraft itself. Their advise to uninstall apps like discord, Afterburner etc. is laughable and seems like they refuse to admit there is some problem on their side. I will hold with purchase until it’s resolved.
My CTDs seems to have gone away after uninstalling the G1000 NXi from the content manager. There might be incompatibility between the two, just my 5 cents.
You may be on to something there. I noticed that if I take off using an external camera view, I get no CTDs, but if my view is in the cockpit, I get CTDs. This would indicate that there is an instrument issue.
No CTDs with other aircraft here. Main CTD I am finding is switch to external view on roll under STOL
Yep, If I switch to external view before beginning to roll, no CTDs. But, if you start the roll prior to switching to external view, you can get a CTD.
Nope.I had CTD while hovering in external camera, above a carrier
For the other things you said.I agree. It is a weird release.
Sounds,awful.
Textures…100% legacy import
Effects..I have vapors in only one wing randomly for some reason.
L.Gear camera gets into the tarmac etc
I am lucky cause i got it for 16€ due to sim market giving me points discount or something like that.
No way it deserves 30€ in its current state
EDIT
No CTD with other aeroplane
I have put a collage video together showing how the CY-57, the F-22, the F-16, the F-15, and F-14 are all able to do the same banks at similar altitudes.
What seems normal to me, is that the F-16, can take these banks much easier than the heavier F-14 and F-15 can.
F-14 = (approximately) 41,780 lbs
F-15= (approximately) 45,000 lbs
F-16= (approximately) 23,000 lbs
F-22= (approximiately) 43,430 lbs
CY-57=(approximately) 37,000 lbs
F-35=(approximately) 34,830 lbs
So the 2nd lightest jet, is arguably the most difficult to make these banks with in my opinion, and to me, that doesn’t seem normal.
I do not regret buying this plane. I’m sure I will fly it often. This is an unlisted video as to not try to make the F-35 look bad publically, and this video doesn’t have to go beyond this forum.
Why am I wrong to expect the F-35 to make banks other heavier/older planes can make?
Try switching to external view before applying throttle and remain in external view for landing. It seems it may be an instrument registration/graphics issue where if the graphical representation of the instruments update before takeoff, you can get a CTD.
That is what i did. External only and ctd
Its not just about weight. Thrust to weight, Surface area, differing control surface designs. The F16 performance excels at a wide range of speeds. Its known for being superior in a dogfight if it came down to it. Look at the airfoil of it without drop tanks. Its a manned cruise missile I tell ya.
What military jets in the sim do you own?
(I think the F-16 looks like a rocket with wings-I love it)
Did you remove the mod and test in the same sim session, or remove it, close the sim, and test again? I ask because removing the mod didn’t solve my CTDs, but I also did it within the same sim session, so it may have been partially loaded from the initial start-up.
I have a ton of IRL frequent traveling until April so I bring a series X with me for now. I own pretty much all payware on the MP that is super sonic. I dont have the Goshawk and I was debating it today. Now and I have to wait forever for this beauty.
Funny I too do not own the Goshawk but was thinking about purchasing that or one of the packs. One time I was flying and I saw a Goshawk and their plane skin was how it should be, even though I didn’t have the plane, I have a Hawk and perhaps that’s why but I was surprised to see the Goshawk livery since I don’t own it(yet).
Well, regarding the F-35, I have been trying for almost an hour, which to me is ridiculous considering my previous experience throughout this canyon, to make it through with the F-35 at least under 3900, which is very reasonable. I mean if the F-14 and F-15 can make the banks under 3900, wouldn’t you think it’s reasonable that the F-35 could?
If so, if/when you have time, please try this for me:
Depart from L41(Marble Canyon) runway 3.
Just follow the Colorado River north(left )
There are just 3 turns/banks I’d like you to try. Please attempt these banks with your military jets, try to complete them under 3900 altitude. Clear skies, and make sure your fuel is low but enough to fly for 4-5 minutes. Try it with your F-14, F-15, F-16, and then try it with the F-35.
In your own opinion based on what you will experience, please report back with your thoughts on if you think the F-35 performs to your expectations compared to how you fly the same turns with other jets.
Well, I guess you could try another flight without the NXi to see if there was still something loaded in the memory? I don’t honestly remember if I restarted after uninstalling, but I’ve just finished three one hour flights without any problems. Before I could not barely get up in the air without crashing to desktop in some point. I did also inactivate GNS530 and GTN750 mods earlier, but it didn’t help until I finally got rid of the NXi. There’s a possibility that I’ve just been lucky so far, however.
I took the B model through the Mach Loop a couple of times and am really impressed. One issue that I have is that the GPWS is going crazy. Any idea of how to silence it?
Here’s a funny little story for you. I’ve mentioned on this forum a few times my older brother is an ex RAF VC10 pilot who now fly’s 787’s for Virgin Atlantic. Most of his friends are current or ex military and commercial pilots of various descriptions. My bother and few other friends all pulled their money together and bought an old RAF Chipmunk which they keep and fly out of Farnborough airfield here in the UK.
One of them is an ex Harrier pilot who did test pilot work flying the F35. So I quickly put together this little scene in the sim SDK with my bothers Chipmunk outside the exact hangar its kept in at Farnborough with my new plane parked near by. I posted these shots on my brothers Facebook page which lead to a lot of amusement and pilot banter about how the Harrier was a real pilots plane for pilots who actually knew how to fly and if you can boil a kettle then congratulations you’ve just past your F35 flying training.

Hello, is it possible to link a button on the joystick or on the keyboard to the STOVL button of the F35 B
“Toggle Wing Lights” is the mapping you need for the STOVL switch.
