I’m trying to install the arrow bundle in 2024 but by default it’s installing in the 2020 directory. Moving the folder after install won’t work as I get an activation error in the sim.
Has someone succeeded on installing any JF product? I suppose it’s the same issue with the rest of aircraft.
Maybe we’ll just have to wait until the 2024 update is released…
Did you copy license file from 2020 to 2024 folder? It’s located in \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\justflight-aircraft-146\work\userinfo.txt for Steam version.
I can see there is an extra “Community” folder in Packages location so the new path should look like this:
Of course this is an example for their BAe 146. I can’t guarantee it will work but it’s probably your only option before JF releases installation files for 2024.
I can’t make it work.
I tried moving it to both \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\ and \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\Community but neither of those worked.
Afterwards I changed the packages directory to another drive and updated the UserjCfg.opt file accordingly without success either.
For now I’ll just wait
Whilst you’re welcome to attempt a manual install of our 2020 products into 2024, it’s not something that we can provide support for. Even if you’re able to get them showing up in 2024, there’ll be numerous compatibility issues until we’ve finished fixing those and release our updated 2024 compatible installers.
As per that news item, we’ve nearly finished work on the first compatibility update, the RJ Professional, and will update our remaining aircraft ASAP. That process should speed up with each update as we learn the common issues and solutions.
At some point we expect the 2020 versions of our products to be available in the 2024 Marketplace for existing owners. Please note that isn’t within our control and they will likely exhibit the same compatibility issues as the non-Marketplace version. We will be uploading our 2024 compatible versions to the Marketplace as soon as they are finished, but there might be a delay with the RJ Professional as the 2024 Marketplace is not yet available to us.
I recently purchased both the Duke and Arrow packages and all six variants appear in MSFS 2020, but the piston Dukes don’t appear in 2024. Also, I tried to load one of the Arrows (III Turbo) in 2024 but there was a message indicating a license problem (not so for the Turbine Duke–that seems to fly OK). On a related note, the A2A Comanche works in 2024, but neither the FSW C414 nor the Milviz C310 appear. Most of the Carenado and other a/c/ appear in 2024 except the Beech 18. I hope all of these issues are resolved soon, but meantime, I’m spending more time in the still buggy 2020–at least it’s not the dumpster fire that 2024 is so far–total beta they rushed in order to get holiday orders (well, that seems to have worked for them, for now).
@nierga8, I had this issue when I wanted to import the Just Flight Hawk-T1. I was able to get the aircraft to display in MSFS 2024 but again was only getting the tablet to say activation failed, and limited functionality with the aircraft. The way I managed to get the activation to work was to copy the licence from MSFS2020 (MS Store location, Obviously Steam is likely slightly different)
AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages\justflight-aircraft-hawk-t1
over into MSFS 2024
AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\WASM\MSFS2020
For some reason it seems that the licences are located in a slightly different place for MSFS 24. Once I had moved the whole file over into that location, the tablet wasn’t displaying activation failed anymore, and after a few minutes left to load on the runway, I was able to operate the aircraft as I normally would in MSFS 2020. While this isn’t a perfect solution, but it’s worked for me for the Hawk-T1 at least, I do have the Vulcan as well but that only displays the cockpit in MSFS 2024. However, as per the Just Flight information, I’m sure they will crack on and get all their aircraft working in the new sim soon enough im sure. Hopefully this helps abit if you give it another attempt.
Thanks, I might try the solution if I have some spare time. At the moment I’m enjoying the rest of the new aircraft.
But this made me realise how much I used to fly (and enjoy) the arrow. For me it’s the sweetspot for GA, relatively simple systems but with their quicks, old and “newer” navigation options, basic failures, great modelling (flight, sounds, visuals)…
What’s really nice too is that all versions are very similar, so I can easily switch between the basic arrow or the turbo depending on the trip following the same checklists and procedures.
I’m truly amazed by how well it flies. I’ve only tried the turbo arrow III and I can’t believe it just works, the only minor detail is that the nav lights are very dim in the external model but that’s a common issue across most aircraft.
But most if not all planes have at least minor issues, like weird fonts on the avionics like the M20R, broken reflections, taxiing issues… whatever. But so far this runs as good as in 2020. Bravo for JF!
I haven’t started the flight with a flight plan created, so I haven’t tested whether the GPS100 is able to show a FP or not, but so far all pages seem to work fine. Also the auto gear down at low speeds works fine, no issues found with the bindings I have for GA, no issues with the tablet yet (haven’t tested it thoroughly).
If they can pull the integration with the EFB where the flight plan can be transfered to the avionics, in this case the GPS100, that would be the icing on the cake.
Amazing, I’m glad it worked for you, It did take some hunting to find the same locations when I got the hawk working, but like most of MSFS 2024 its all different file names/types/locations. but yeah I think the big thing will be a lot of the flight systems for devs, much of it seems to be well integrated into the aircraft and like Just Flight are specific to each aircraft so would take some time to get it all up and running, unless there is other 3rd party nav systems that would also work. but like I say, it might take some time, but I’m sure they will iron it out and any systems that are unfixable will get reworked in the new sim aswell. Only time will tell haha.
Yeah sadly the vulcan has been a bust for me too, i only have the hawk and the vulcan, although all i get loaded into the Sim is the cockpit of the vulcan, i dont get any external model at all. If youve been able to get the externals to show up please feel free to let me know because i havent really delved into it much becuse of the lack of externals.
