Issue ATC Window - no resize - impossible scrolling - MSFS 2024

:white_check_mark: ISSUE DESCRIPTION

  1. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? - No

  2. Description of the issue: In flight the ATC does not show the information properly. The ATC Window as two parts. The communication part does not scroll down to the latest message. The input part where you may for example choose one of several airports or landing method is too small. The Window is not resizable in height. Therefore you have to permanently activate the cursor mode and use the controller which not very comfortable to scroll within the parts to read the last message or see all the airports.

  1. Start a free flight in New York on xbox with the controller only
  2. Activate the ATC Window in Flight
  3. Try to read the latest message or choose the 7. or 8. Airport in the list or try to make the whole window higher.

I have the same problems. Also, there is no “Toggle ATC” keybind, only keybinds for displaying atc and the panel choices. So, if I press a key/button to open ATC, I have to use the toolbar to close it.

Same, stupid to have no toggle. Plus not being able resize the window

Same here - PC. The two issues are:

  1. The keybind does not toggle off - only on.
  2. The ATC window is not resizable to allow all options to be visible.

Note that this behavior has regressed from 2020 - in the earlier sim the keybind toggles both ways and the window is resizable.

This is a non-fatal but extremely annoying bug.

I have been somewhat forced to Google so many things relating to MSFS 2024 in the last 2 days compared to any previous sim over the last 20 years. I also really must question the mentality in who decided to make such negative changes to the sim. It is as if they have to change things just to add to a long list of ‘Enhancements’ to justify the new sim. The new ATC window is atrocious. Oversized text, leading me to check my accessibility settings, lack of visible lines, viewing nearby airports shows about 3 or 4 so you have to struggle to scroll, read AND keep an eye on your flying. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to make it non-resizable? Worst decision yet!! Oh yes and like others said no ATC toggle - seriously? You need to get the mouse and close it

This was a common complaint in 2020. I’m surprised it was made worse.

You can toggle the window using “Open Communication” or something like that (Open ATC doesnt toggle). I have the same problem with resizing though.

in 2020 you could make the window as a long as you want. Was easy to see all the items/airports at once

Outstanding find - thanks. Ok that’s one problem solved, now just need to be able to resize to see all ATC options.

or at least allow a setting to exclude grass and gravel strips or show only specific rwy length when soaring around in an A320… scrolling through that endless list which constantly changes was - and still is - driving me nuts

This should be a wishlist item. There should be a setting or filter so that finding a major airport that’s 20nm away isn’t on page 4 of the options. Or maybe sort by a combination of size and proximity so that bigger airports come up in the list faster.

+1000 for all these comments.
-no atc option window scroll resize
-no remembering the window’s last screen position
-find airports further goes to the end of the next page of airports instead of beginning
-don’t need hospital helipads and ranch/farms when flying airliners (for example)
-still don’t understand why we can’t manually tune twr freq/airports and have to select them from a list in the first place or at least have your flightplan’s destination as option 1

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: When ATC responds to your call, the message should scroll up but it does not. When we make calls it does scroll up. This causes you to have to use the mouse and scroll manually every time they respond in order to see their response.

• Yes, doesn’t matter if I’m in VR or 2D. After about 5 minutes in flight the conversation stops scrolling in the ATC communications window. Even if I scroll down to the bottom to see what they just said, the next time ATC talks it gets reset to the same place that it got stuck at the first time. It makes it nearly impossible to see what ATC is saying when there is a lot of traffic on the channel. Every time someone speaks, the window goes back up you you are playing a cat and mouse game of trying to scroll down and see what they said before the next person speaks.
