Hello Dijas.
Welcome to MSFS 2020 Forum.
I have X series X, TM Hotos. Make sure Hotos is plugged into back of console. Switch on back of console is in the Xbox position. Unplug everything, including internet! Plug everything back in.
Let me know how it goes. Add me if you like.
I have done all of this. I’ve unplugged my entire set up and plugged it back in. I am unable to play when the game is installed on my Xbox Series X/S because of a software glitch so I play on the cloud. I don’t know if that is the problem but what ever it is. My brand new T. Flight Full Kit X doesn’t even pop up on my controls options. I am able to use it to open the xbox home screen and xbox menu settings. But it doesn’t work for MSFS. Anything suggestions on what to do would be great!
This is your issue. Cloud services do not support HOTAS or Yoke peripherals. Only an Xbox controller/gamepad. You’ll need to download onto your series x local drive. I’m curious to know what software glitch is preventing you from installing locally?
From Xbox support “Flight sticks and other non-standard controllers are not yet supported on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Microsoft Flight Simulator can be played on an Xbox One console via cloud gaming using an Xbox Wireless Controller or Xbox-licensed gamepad.”
The glitch happens when I open the game. It loads just fine no lag or anything but once I get to the launch screen (the one with “press any button to start). When I press a, it loads for a second and then crashes. I went through on forums and tried to find the problem. I restarted the console, uninstalled and reinstalled. Still nothing but I saw people were having similar problems and saw that people were saying it had to do with duplicated data. I’m not very good with networks and electronics so I thought that was it and I just decided to play on cloud gaming assuming that it was in some way connected to the Microsoft servers. Worked fine until you let me know that I can’t play with my TM full kit. I am reinstalling it right now to see if anything changed. If not, I don’t know what to do.
Something that I forgot to say was that I had uninstalled to make room for another game. When I reinstalled I ran into the crashes. But my friend who has never uninstalled has no problems. I don’t know why this is happening.
Let’s hope your reinstall remedies the situation. I’m sure we can troubleshoot this; there are a ton of super helpful folks here on the forums. (Welcome by the way! )
Just for some more info are you on the Xbox Series ‘X’ or the Xbox Series ‘S’? There are differences.
You have xcloud services, but do you have Xbox game pass? As well do you have an online membership i .e. Xbox Core Pass? (what used to be called Gold membership for online accesses.) It may be a matter of you logging in your account on Microsoft and linking the Xbox download for access. I’ve seen some threads about Xbox account services not linking.
Thanks for the welcome. I have the S Version and I do have normal game pass. I don’t have the core pass. But I have never payed for it anyway. The install completes in about 50 mins. How do I see if my xbox account services are linking?
Yes there seems to be an issue with the syncing of data from your cloud to your Xbox locally. A few things to try. Log in and out of your Microsoft account on your Xbox as well on Microsoft’s website using the email or username associated with Xbox/microsoft. Then try and boot the sim.
Next you can try resetting the Xbox.
Settings > System > Console Info > Reset Console.
Choose the option Reset and keep my games & apps. I believe this is the same option has holding down the Xbox button for 10-20seconds to force a reset and restart.
The next option is a bit nuclear, but You can delete the saved data on your Xbox forcing it to sync with the cloud. This may delete your profile and activities progress so proceed with caution.
Settings > System > Storage Devices > Clear Local Saved Games
Hopefully these options work. I’ve also found this bug thread from last fall that describes the same issue. The topic author has said the only way they fixed their issue was to delete their profile and start again.
Anything you’ve bought in marketplace is yours to keep. So even if you got a new xbox you could still download all of the things you’ve bought as long as you keep your account the same
Let me be more specific on my problem. I have x-box series x. FSM 20th anniversary.

Hello Thomas .
Welcome to MSFS 2020. I’ve got the same setup as you. Having no issues at all, all working great. Im retired, so on most days. Can assist if needed. I’m in Alaska.
Add me if you like.
Thanks for the get-back. I have done everything I can think of to fix this…it is probably some simple user created issue. I do not have a Mike, have tried different USB ports, rebooted the box, switch is not in the PC position, plug the Hotas in just before pushing Fly button, called my financial advisor, consulted with my doctor. Nothing works. This happened several months ago but I don’t remember how I fixed it. This time it happened after the last update.
I’m retired as well, living in North Myrtle Beach SC and was quite happy until this happened.
Have a great day.
