Not only some of the best videos on yt,
But…
Easily one of the best and soothing voices of YT followedby 320sim pilot and a330driver at a distance 3rd…
I would add Into The Blue for 3rd spot. While I think A330driver content is great, the voice is not soothing at all to me personally. Because every time I hear it I cannot help but think “oh dear, do I sound like that too with my German accent”.
The major problem that I have with the Avro RJ, just purchased four days ago, is that modern airliners are kind of a yawner to fly any more.
Seriously, fantastic plane. I’d watched British Avgeek and Into The Blue’s vids, but the new official JF ones are really concise and easy to follow.
I really need to dig into the manuals to figure out the “why” on all of the procedures. For example, I assume that the APU remains on for both t/o and landing so that the Engine Air can be turned off to allow max power?
Love the plane but for me on the XSX I think the performance is a bit sluggish. Interested to know if you are seeing the same…? And also interested to know if Justflight are aware and looking to optimise it a bit more?
The yoke movement is a bit glitchy. I feel like there’s a bit of a delay between clicking and the button actually being pressed in the sim - particularly on the FMC. And also, probably most importantly, on landing or just after takeoff the sim slows down massively compared to ‘real time’ so landing isn’t too much of a challenge coz everything is in slow motion which ruins the immersion somewhat. (have compared with a stopwatch to cockpit clock and time is running around 60% of real time)
Also not operating out of any 3rd party airports.
Are you experiencing that too or all running OK?
Frames are pretty choppy on Series X for me too, but mostly just near the ground, and it’s hit or miss depending on where I’m flying. Smaller regional airports fare better than larger hubs… I tried KSAN to KLAS last week, and it was pretty rough on departure and approach. I’ve managed to mitigate this a little bit by keeping the tablet powered off when I’m not using it, and also by keeping the FO’s EFIS displays powered off. There’s definitely room for more optimization here considering how smoothly other (more advanced) airliners can run on Xbox - I think Just Flight knows this, and I’m sure they can work on further optimizing the RJ.
exactely my opinion…
That’s exactly why, can’t starve those lil’ engines of that sweet power.
I’ve not bought it yet. If it’s performing worse than the 146, I’ll just stick with that for now.
Let me know if it improves
Unfortunately, the same thing happens to me from time to time. The only solution seems to be to restart the flight. Normally, the EGT and N2 gauges should be powered once the batteries are connected, and the remaining gauges once you connect an AC power source.
It’s always tough with well-modelled planes to determine if it’s a bug or a feature. Can’t say I’ve observed this behavior, but I’ve only had it for a week.
We are currently investigating that issue. More discussion here: Occasionally, on startup, engine gauges only partially turn on or sometimes not at all | Just Flight Community

Right so - just did a bit of a test on XSX, albeit without a big flight plan loaded, just did a circuit at LFML and put the copilot’s EFIS off and the EFB off after using it for all the necessary pre-flight stuff and things seemed better! still a bit slow but I’d say the sim lost a few seconds at takeoff and a few just before landing. Was a big improvement on before in comparison but still not exactly where I’d want it.
At least it makes me feel like I want to use the plane instead of wait for an update so that’s a win!
I’m glad to hear my suggestions helped a bit! I also had a really nice flight with it last night into CYYZ - Everything was buttery smooth right up until I was on the ground, then the stutters began… It’s totally manageable, but I do hope they can fix this. Took their F28 back on the return leg, and didn’t drop a single frame, so I know Just Flight has the potential to optimize the RJ further.
and of course, I get the mostly-blank engine display…and only saw it after I’d done 10+ minutes of flight setup. Oh well, I’m sure a bugfix will come soon.
It’s worth keeping an eye on this forum thread, if you aren’t already: Occasionally, on startup, engine gauges only partially turn on or sometimes not at all | Just Flight Community

but, I guess there is progress in your work anyway
A patch with the FS24 compatibility has just been released. Exactly what I was waiting for! Thank you Just Flight!
