Just Flight have announced the Fokker F28 Fellowship

The first load after install or update is always longer, it compiles WASM files. The duration depends on your hardware.

It works fine for me in MSFS2024, but I use SU3.

I’m using SU4 beta and it loads fine for me. It also flew nicely last night too.

First loads after an update can take up to ten minutes.

Is it expected that repaints for previous versions would not work on this one? I assume due to it becoming a native 2024 aircraft? I tried loading one last night and it was all white.

Textures are all now ktx2 files, so no old liveries:(

It’s a simple process to update the livery formats to work in 2024, so hopefully we’ll see some of the artists starting to do that soon.

Is anyone getting GSX to do seated passengers on v2? Seems to break the 3d model with just the interior cabin showing for me. Maybe gsx needs an update. I’ve disabled the F28 via GSX for seated passengers in the meantime. I still get passengers boarding, just not seated any more.

The 4 planes/packages (P28R, P28U, B146, F28) I’ve bought from JF have been by far the best investment I’ve made in this sim. Regular, effective communication, free, well-developed updates, the best tactile experience of any aircraft I’ve played with on a computer… It’s just a pity people won’t look past modern tubeliners.

It was the same with the RJ when that was made a 2024 model. Fairly certain that because aircraft purposely designed for the new sim use a much more modular structure, FS Dreamteam will need to create a new seated passengers layout for each plane upgraded to 2024 (native). Has not yet happened for the RJ either, alas - at least last time I looked / got a GSX upgrade notification.

Have you or anyone else asked FSDT about this exactly?

V2 seems to be creating a pitch oscillation while climbing from about FL250 to FL300. I climb in IAS mode at 250kts. When I hit approx FL250 the pitch starts oscillating between +1000ft/min to 0ft/min and continues this behaviour and climbing largely slows down/stops. I currently have to switch over to pitch mode and set a pitch of +1000ft/min and then the speed holds fairly steady at 250kts, and the aircraft climbs to FL300. Not sure why IAS mode isn’t working though.

I’ve done about 6 flights in v2 now and this has happened on every flight. Climb power is set, flaps/gear retracted.

Can confirm, have experienced the same, had to change to pitch mode to resolve it.

Edit: I was climbing at about 270knots above 10,000 and the oscillation happened around FL250 as you said.

Interestingly the F28 ISN’T a modular aircraft - it doesn’t have the presets folder structure with the root files for everything else to inherit from.
Still works fine but might contribute to the 13.3 GB install size…

Is it possible that the trim kicked in and went to its max-up position? I’ve battled this once in the earlier phases of the CRJ as I remember it.

Can you elaborate? What I’m seeing is the pitch (automatically) being changed by the AP to presumably meet IAS of 250kts. It hunts up and down (oscillates between 0ft/min→1000ft/min) but never settles. Is that trim? I don’t know. All I know is changing over to PITCH mode and setting +1000ft/min keeps the aircraft roughly at 250kts while maintaining the climb. I’ll keep an eye on the trim wheel when it’s oscillating on next flight.

Not everyone share your opinion about JF. It’s been a year and 146 is still not compatible with fs 2024, both Vulcan and RJ planes cannot track vor/tacan signal without constantly banking left and right. I already mentioned broken wipers in the latest F28. They recently released 146 for xp12 without UNS-1. Instead they put default FMC there and called it a day. None of their planes have simulated failures afaik.

They are not actually broken, they just haven’t added the feature to clear the rain yet. They work as intended (they are not intended to clear the rain in its current state) and they have said that this feature will come to the aircraft in a future update. There is a difference between a broken feature and one that isn’t implemented.

I love this plane, but it would’ve been cool to walk from outside right up to the cockpit in walkaround mode. Anyway thanks for the update.

I was thinking that myself. It’s not a knock on the a/c, it’s just that Fenix have spoiled users by implementing that cool feature. (I’ve not seen any other a/c allow that, is there another one?). Those steps were made for walking up, lol. SHIFT+C (meh). I do like the handle to unlock and the steps animation though.

There’s another sim with a Challenger 650 who did it even better; I think MSFS 2024 could do it. Fenix just did what Asobo should have done from the beginning. The walkaround mode is poor in this sim; you lose all the immersion when you have to click MAYUS+C and teleport to the seat. IMO
