Just ran through it again, I thought it was at idle before but I was overly conscious of the throttle position this time, and it seemed to work. Perhaps that was it then! Thanks.
For what it’s worth, I’d also echo everyone’s sentiments about this addon. It’s a superb piece of kit. And as frustrating as it was for me, it’s good to know that it punishes you for not operating it correctly - it really adds to the experience of feeling like you’re operating a living, breathing jet. Top work all round!
I can’t make any meaniful comment on the real Hawk but the JF model feels how I would (naively?) expect a fast jet trainer to feel - if you fly it the way you are meant to fly it’s a joy but you mess around and it will let you know and then punish you if you keep doing it.
Not sure if it’s an option with your flight setup, but I hold the relight button with my mouse for a beat or 2, not just press and release. Don’t know if it would muck up the starter in RL, but it alleviated my issues in the sim.
This may be a jet thing, but when turning quite hard, I get some strange pitching up and down. Is this ‘buffeting’? Normal? How do you stop it? I see on tutorials, they don’t seem to do it, so I am doing something wrong.
If you’re like me, your elevator control sensitivity curve is exponential. Make it linear and it may help. Also, your gear was still down after take off.
OK, due to hashing that up so bad, here’s my Cold and Dark. Not too much shaking, but I did disable to over-stress crash, because I seem to always over-stress.

100 Imp Gal (454 L) drop tank option added for longer range flights. Note that in real-life these were fitted to export variants and not the RAF Hawk T1/A. The drop tank fuel feeds automatically through the wing tanks and to the engine. Make sure to check the total weight on the EFB as it’s easy to exceed the take-off and landing weight limits with two drop tanks and full fuel!

Stopwatch added to left frequency preset card in both cockpits - centre knob controls stop/start and is rotated for winding it up (winding it up 100% provides approx. 90 minutes use), right knob controls reset. The stopwatch can be raised/lowered by clicking on the stopwatch itself or the nearby glareshield light (mounted beneath the glareshield to the left of the frequency preset card).
