Lack of Communication from Microsoft and Asobo

In that one video? Yeah, cause they were still working on it - duh.

Xbox issue resolved

Announcement about it being resolved

Looks better for me by a lot. I don’t have blurry Textures or other weird issues. Lighting is better, reflections are better, clouds are better, shadows are better. A lot is better when it works.

I’m confused. You were the one who said they solved it. Knowing what the problem is isn’t solving it. It’s knowing what the problem is.

What confuses you?

In the video they identified the problem with Login Queue - 200k strees tested db/cache.
That has now been resolved as indicated by the updates.

My response was in ‘what else can they say’ reply - they can talk about the current issues as they have acknowledged in vague terms that there are more.

I have some near and dear issues close to me stopping me from progressing further. I’m sure others are keen to hear about issues important to them.

Disabling forced 2020 addons - when? Sound issues - do we know why? 97% Club - any official recommendations as it’s still happening; Load issues for UK and EU users - there’s lot’s to talk about and inform, educate and keep the community on the same page.

A lot of angry villagers with pitchforks will be pacified with open and honest communciation or any indication of progress happening.

Aviatiate, navigate, communicate does not apply here IMHO and communicate needs to be towards the top of priorities.

2024 looks much better than 2020 on my Series X. I’m more of a digital tourist and don’t fly the big airliners but I’m not experiencing any game breaking bugs in the things I like to do.

Minor issues like graphical glitches with the motorized hot air balloon and POI’s and fauna markers not showing up on the world map.

Nothing that makes me think the game should be removed from the marketplace.

Asobo/MS discovered a new business model in IT by having millions of people PAYING to be beta tester of they unfinished products.

It’s funny how I cannot complete a single flight without finding a new bug.

I purchased the Aviator version, and I am absolutely not disappointed with the result. Yes, there are quite a few bugs, and the platform is far from being finished. Some planes aren’t ready, Carrier mode has bugs and so on
But I’m aware that Flight Sim is not just a simple game; it’s a constantly evolving platform that will take months (or even years) to perfect (FS2020 was only just starting to get there).

We’re talking about simulating the entire world, after all!
Given the list of bugs, I’m not expecting Asobo and Microsoft to provide any definitive answers about when all the reported issues will be resolved. I imagine they’re already plenty overwhelmed. Asking for updates every 2-3 hours is just time they could otherwise spend working on the problems.

Personally, I wasn’t frustrated about not being able to launch FS2024 on release day

Anyway, no matter how unhappy people are, that won’t make the bugs get fixed any faster. So let’s continue reporting bugs to let the developer aware, and let’s try to enjoy what it’s working

So, I suggest exploring the platform with what’s currently working. Normally, I only fly IFR, but now I’m rediscovering VFR. I must say that the turbulence, the aircraft reactions, and the ground details are giving me incredible enjoyment. The training and exams are working,

Patience is the mother of all virtues.

That is assuming that they’ll try to fix the issue to begin with.

If it’s only a problem of server capacity or bandwidth, I wouldn’t be surprised that they are stuck because some finance guy made the computations and decided that the cost/benefit ratio is not good for their bottom line.

So, maybe they’ll simply keep people happy with “we’re working on it” messages, do nothing and wait for the wave of initial users to die down.

Those who were going to buy the game will buy it later, as the market is quite limited for flight Sims and the occasional gamepass user’s will be bored and switch to other games, freeing the server.

2-3 hours is perhaps a bit of a stretch, but updates of 3 sentences is lacking, as the OP kinda suggests.

Also, the people doing the work aren’t the ones writing the updates.

Yeah, I alluded to the same strategy in other post somewhere.

Wait for newcomers to the platform abandon it, call server issues resolved, put up mission acomplished banner and self praise all around.

Peak times roll in and we’re in trouble again.

Yes that’s correct they are not the same, but in order to be able to write something and provide updates, they need to get the information from the developers which require to ask them to stop working on the issue to reply, to write a mail, etc
which is time consuming as well.

I cannot imagine a scenario where they don’t have internal systems in place to manage issues and coordinate efforts. Asobo bullpen of 300 people and you think they’re emailing each other to coordinate what they work on? If that’s the case, I would be surprised anything gets done ever at any pace.

In 2020 days there were updates with top issues etc - that was at least marginally better than what is going on since launch.

Hello @TK631 and @TropicoE,

I can assure you that this is absolutely not the strategy. The launch issues are real, and we’re not ignoring them and just waiting for them to go away on their own when the demand on server capacity is reduced. We have team members working literally round the clock right now to resolve the launch problems and get everyone flying normally.

I know many of you would like more information, but we’re sharing with you everything we can as soon as we can. Rest assured that we are taking this extremely seriously and treating it with the topmost priority.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

IMHO the top brass needs to re-evaluate what can be shared

It doesn’t matter if it’s through email, GitHub, or any other platform, or even within the same office space. In any case, the bugs will likely be addressed based on priority, depending on the number of people affected and their severity (whether it’s a blocker, etc.). They’re already overwhelmed, so we just need to give them some time to get organized.

Day 3 and they’re still getting organised? I fear the worst - this launch is even more mismanaged than initially assumed lol.

Look, it’s clear we won’t find an agreement here. You are probably the type of person who is happy to just know they are working on it - there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. I, among others, are not in that mindset and camp - we are invested and would very much like to know what is going on, what is causing these issues etc - we would very much like to go on a ride along with them as @GuyThomas1989 put above in his shared experience

Even when people are able to load and fly the sim they are not lucky

My version (PC_Store version) is running for 32 hours now and i was able to setup things, get to know the UI and the aircraft, but
I Fly around EHAM, the small slreams and lakes are flooding or are missing water,There is a piramid building just left of take-off run RWY24, ON EHHV there are trees in the runways, Around the farmers grass fields there are brown strokes of scenery (as if two satellite images one from summer and one from winter overlap each other), rain effects on the cockpit windows are not showing up, No ice buildups to see (yes I have all settings right), No Toolbar in VR, A ugly guy next to you in the cockpit wich you are not able to remove, some instruments of carenado aircraft are so dark you can not read them, the ATR can not be started up, the INIBuilds A320NEOs floodlights are not working, VR FR are not playable on the same settings as in MSFS2020 (My system: I9-13900KF, RTX4090, 32 GB RAM) , sometimes a CTD, Often the Game freezes, CTR-ALT-Del to get it shut down and be able to start again
Not to speak about the huge amount of work you need to spend getting your joystick and throttles setup, extremely difficult UI. I was trying hard to give MSFS2024 a chance
but I am back to MSFS2020 for now and lost a lot of time.

Thank you for your reply, it’s appreciated. I would also add that don’t envy your role as a community manager, must be really tough with us bunch.

Unfortunately, with the current “■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■” of all the X as a Service, we only have your words to believe and I’m sorry to say they sounds a bit hollow.

MSFS20 launch was also a bad, and even if it got better it still had its woes with the updates.

We’ll see what’s going to be the future, but I remain convinced that this theory of “sweeping the dust under the rug” is most likely going to happen to some level and we’re going to see regular issues with the servers at peak times (like release of a new PMDG add-on).

But hey, prove me wrong, solves those problems. I’ll happily eat my hat!

What youve said is just about the most unhelpful thing ive read all day. Ive got to come here for something to do because the product i bought doesnt work. 1 10 min flight in 3 days of trying. If I sold you a product that you could`nt get to work at all I expect you would be on me like white on rice my friend.

Hello @TropicoE,

The poster to whom you were responding does not work on the team and was making a speculative comment. We are not “just getting organised”. We have had staff working on the launch issues since almost immediately after they were first identified and escalated.

Thanks,
MSFS Team
