4 more partially finished aircraft?
I really don’t think you get it at all.
Buy a real Xbox Series X, try the game out for yourself - it doesn’t have to be for very long - then tell us that 4 more aircraft is an adequate “reward”
Thanks.

Very well said
This. Something made MS/Asobo push 2024 out “on time” in November and I’d bet money it was the marketing department and bean counters.
The better path would have been to avoid the churn and consternation, and delay a month or two so devs could continue work instead of fighting deployment fires.
On the other hand, had Microsoft announced a month or two delay, the howls would have been just as loud - just different.
This situation simply was not managed or at least not managed well. I’ve seen managers get realistic time estimates and force compressed time scales anyway on devs without cutting any features. “Hilarity” always follows.
This is pretty much guaranteed to be on Microsoft for not spotting the building storm early in development and either adjusting the schedule or cutting some aspects/features. As long as Microsoft doesn’t just pull the plug, I’m sure it will all get fixed, but now that the car is rolling, changing tires is a lot harder.
If MS was open and honest about it, the community would have accepted the delay for a such a complex game. By all means push the launch by 6-8months to get it right. So many other game developers have done it. It would have only generated more interest in the sim. It took many of us by surprise when MS announced FS24. We were just settling into FS20 investing 100s of $$ in addons and peripherals. The community would have easily waited longer for the next upgrade.
Now it’s an utter mess. I’m using FS20 for free flight and FS24 to explore the career mode and bug reporting. Ideally, I would like to have just one sim on my HD.
They should have launched as early access.
The date they wanted, and no complains.
But less revenue..
Hopefully after 3 weeks basically off, we’ll get into a rhythm of no more holidays to interior progress. What’s unfortunate is come mid January, by the time things get back up to speed, it’ll be already 2 months post release with many issues outstanding
No marketplace
No new photogrammetry for cities
No 2020 content airports
No Xbox /LOD improvements
No fix for blurry textures that make 2024 look 20 yrs old
They should have delayed it till January, released it as a beta in November, so that gave them a few weeks to sort out the major issues. Then when they returned to work after the new year they would have had a break and be ready to tackle the problems with 2024.
The latest update brought the 2020 airports. These can now be activated.
Yes, I know, but not all of them. I made a list some posts above showing a decent amount of items still missing
Or people are spending time with family since it’s the holiday season. In the US, once Thanksgiving rolls around it’s pretty much family and friend get together until after the new year.
While I enjoy the doomsday scenario posts form everyone in here, it is getting a bit overdramatic. We got 15 world updates and numerous other items over 3-4 years of 2020. It’s fine to criticize them, but if you guys think they are just giving up on 2024 after a bad release, you aren’t paying attention to what happened during the last game/sim (especially considering it released during prime covid times).
I think the communication is good overall, my only issue is they often don’t comment on some of the big issues enough effecting player’s experience with the sim like the Xbox extremely poor LOD or the mouse freelook bug, despite them being a hot discussion on here.
There are many issues, I get that, but it feels like they turn a blind eye to some things despite obviously being aware of them.
I know they are hard at work, (after the holiday) and will fix/improve stuff where they can though even if they don’t relay all the info to us.
It’s just a shame it released in a bad state, MS clearly set a deadline for release and the devs had to take the fall for the disaster when they knew it wasn’t ready.
I do get all that - but MSFS2024 isn’t a completely new title.
The red line should have been that MSFS2024 was better than 2020 on the very first day it was released. That had to be an absolute minimum even - especially - for the “bean counters”.
I think the cause of this fiasco is lack of QA culture - a quantity over quality approach to new features and aircraft totally lacking the discipline needed to deliver something achievable.
Sadly, for many it seems - especially Xbox users - that MSFS2020 is actually an upgrade on MSFS2024, whilst potential new long term users may be deterred altogether.
If I was a beancounter or entrepreneur I’d want MSFS 2020 as the baseline to build on - for all the niggles, it remains an astonishingly good product and could make MS/Asobo money for years if they look after it.
Edit: For example optional paid for DLC that improved flight planning and the useless ATC would both be massive improvements
Jummivana: Hi, I’m a MS FS 2024 user (and a long time MS FS 2024 user). I’d like to submit some bug reports on 2024. I’ve studied this forum for 30 minutes now, and I cannot see where to submit a new bug. I found a post where you display a template to use (“what platform.. etc”) But no where do I see a button to “create new post” or “create new topic” or “submit a bug”. Do I need additional permissions to create a topic? can you give me the permissions? or is there a “create topic” button somewhere that I am overlooking?
I apologize for posting here as a reply to an unrelated topic, but I cannot figure out how to DM you directly. I’m sure my ignorance will go away with time (this is my first visit to the MS FS forum).
I have a few bugs to report that I think are important. (PS I’m a sw engineer myself). Thanks, noleander

Here’s the info you need. Did you follow the onboarding?
I agree that the release was a joke and that communication has been sparse. But as an XBOX-only user I think it is farther ahead of 2020 than I had even hoped. Yes, the career, the one feature that I looked forward to most, although frustrating, has been fun. I just do it on my terms as much as possible. I hit “Y” in the briefing screen and do a flyover to check for trees and structures that might pork the mission. Yet often after that recon, I still have to abort when the mission proves impossible. Nonetheless it’s mostly fun. The game looks shockingly good on the XBOX, and generally runs smoothly. I haven’t opened 2020 even though it has the Milviz Osprey, Chinook and their awesome global floating fleet. I miss ‘em. Too bad—I cannot go back.
Thanks for the info. No, I did not go thru an onboarding process …where can I find that?
Thanks for the info. I’m not seeing a “Create new post” button yet. I guess I’ll post some replies in various threads and see if I can get my reputation up where it needs to be.
Sometimes the moderators will step in and raise your level for you.
Perhaps, they will do so this time.
