I get what you’re saying, but the fact that the comment was made on January 17th before the dev stream doesn’t make speculation any less speculative. If there isn’t a confirmed date, then assuming any delays without official info is just basically a guess.
As for Brazil, if March 11 was never set in stone, then expecting a confirmation right now doesn’t necessarily mean any type of mismanagement… it could just be that they’re finalizing things, or not.
And yeah, the SU2 timeline seems ambitious given SU1 delays, but without an actual update from MS/Asobo, it’s still just an educated guess with nothing concrete until they provide official info.

When is the Marketplace not the Marketplace? When it’s released alongside SU1. Microsoft stated REPEATEDLY via dev updates and community “communicators” that the marketplace will release with SU1. And did it? No. I don’t care what the reasons are. All I see is Microsoft not delivering what they advertised YET AGAIN. Microsoft communications are simply not reliable. I am exceedingly disappointed with Microsoft consumer delivery. This is in addition to the other outright lies and promises not delivered in the product.

As far as i understand the world updates can only come when the marketplace is there and according to the dev blog the Brazil world update should come next week or did i misunderstand that.
No, you are right, so marketplace launches before or at the same time as Brazil WU, so latest at next Tuesday.

Was previously penciled in for April, there’s a developer livestream on the 14th so they may release more information about it then.
My Personal Comment & Observation
This might not be true for 2024. Since I’m streaming everything, presumably the Brazil WU will be streamed too, just like all the other World Updates, e.g. WU XVIII:
When released, I’d expect to see WU 19 appear in My Library with the option to disable if I so choose.
So for 2024, the WU may not be reliant on the availability of the Marketplace, as all the other WUs are already in My Library despite the Marketplace being unavailable since launch.
Since I’m speculating here, I could be 100% wrong on this, though.
For 2020, all the World Updates, you had to go into the Marketplace first and say Get. Only then did it add to your library.
For MSFS 2020 yes, the WU will be obtained via the market as usual, however for MSFS 2024 the WU are distributed via the data stream. I don’t think the marketplace will be operational on the 11th for 2024.
Okay I checked again now because I was relatively sure that Jörg had said that in the stream and here is the link with timestampt that WUs do not work without Marketplace, is from the last Dev Stream.

That’s wierd since the world is streamed, and they specifically said WU will not need to be dowloaded in orded to see them, they will be automatically updated for everyone. the WU relying on the marketplace is 2020 specific.
if in fact WU are tied to the marketplace in 2023 then it completely negates all the streamed part of the game, since you basically download it on your PC
No because you stream it anyway but the WUs still have to be “bought” even if they cost nothing to have them in the library.

Makes no sense, if it’s streamed, what’s the point in having to “purchase” a WU from marketplace for 2024.
That seems like an unneeded extra step to me.
I do clearly recall Jorg saying the marketplace needs to be open for scenery updates. But I am also confused. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. I’m sure he will comment on this in the next Dev stream.
