Today, I departed from Sydney, Australia, in the easyJet Boeing 737-800 in FS2020. The major announcement regarding the update prompted me to do this.
What disappointed me, however, is the level of detail at Kingsford Smith International Airport.
Point 1: There are sections missing from the jet bridges.
Point 2. After landing, there was no option to request a gate; I could only select a parking spot. I took the liberty of choosing a gate myself.
Another shortcoming in Australia is this:
When flying over the Opera House, a large part of the adjacent Sydney Harbour Bridge is missing. Cars are driving through the water. The arch bridge is not visible .
Hi @PilotHans1377
Which announcement is this - I’ve seen no recent announcement from Microsoft for Australia, Sydney or YSSY. Is this a custom scenery / airport?
It’s incredible and approaching from the north, Rwy 16R in heavy airliners both the bridge and opera house render in and everything looks incredible. And I’m on Xbox
No, it is not an add-on airport being updated but the default airport in the sim.
When starting the sim, an on-screen message appears indicating that it concerns the “WORLD UPDATE AUSTRALIA.” See the image below. The next screen displays a number of NEW ACTIVITIES.
I expected that a great deal of the existing photogrammetry of Australia would have been updated.
The message I submitted is intended to prompt a response from the community. And, of course, from the *Flight Simulator* developers. So that these matters are brought to their attention for the next update.
My message is solely intended to point out a few defects; it is certainly not meant as criticism.
It is known that the creators read these kinds of messages and are keen to work on getting things right.
The solution for the bridge has been found!
When I discussed this topic with another FS2020 pilot, he asked if I had downloaded all the Points of Interest for Australia from the Content Manager.
He was right. I have now updated all the Points of Interest for Australia. And here is the result.
This might be useful for future questions regarding missing components.
That leaves the issue of missing components at the airport Kingsford Smith International Airport. I checked the Content Manager for that, and it shows as up to date.
