Thats why i use a hotas, mouse and keyboard on xbox, much simpler to bind what i need
Some good points made. I’d like to add that the Xbox user with gamepad does not pay any less for the product – though it could be argued that we receive a fraction of the functionality vs. PC. We are entitled to the same level of support as other paying customers. This specific function worked differently, and far better IMO, in FS20.
still trapping me in cockpit… ![]()
Please Microsoft, notice this issue.
We want to remove the blue highlights when selecting something in the cockpit. It’s unrealistic and annoying. Even after turning off the center dot, it still appears, with controller or mouse.
Functionality is now working in FS2024 SU6 beta:

Hello, is not quite working properly. Every time I start the game, even if “Legacy” is selected, the “Lock” interaction is active. I need to cycle between the two options for “Legacy” to work again.
Xbox Series X, SU6 Beta.
Does this legacy mode only change the blue light on functional controls? Does it do anything else?
is the center white dot still active even when hidden? Does it still lock on to controls when looking around?
Don’t know, feel free to ask in the related report: Xbox - Disabling the Center Dot Still Retains Its "Lock-On" Function
It uses different interactions. Example:
If you’re using a mouse in Lock, you can click and hold, and then drag the mouse in a certain direction to turn a dial. In Legacy, you click and hold to turn the dial; the right side of the dial to turn clockwise, the left side to turn counterclockwise.
A switch that has three positions, currently in the center, in Lock you can click and hold and then drag the mouse in the direction you want to flip the switch. In Legacy you have a click spot to flip it up, and another to flip it down.
Legacy is a bit more finicky, I’d say. Lock is more suitable for controllers, I believe. The ideal for me personally would be Lock mode, but get rid of the blue highlight.
