Brief description of the issue:
Flying today with 787x to the north of South America, more precisely over Brazil, State of Amazonas, where there is a current of heavy rain accompanied by lightning inside the cockpit. I didn’t notice this before. But the lightning appears inside the Cockpit. A bit strange since flying the FL410 was not for such a phenomenon to occur even more inside the cockpit
Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:
Not getting such a feat to illustrate as it is almost impossible to get a good photo. But other people could contribute to this with pictures maybe.
Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:
only in regions with rain and above the cloud layer.
PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:
R5 3600x | Rx5700xt | 32G DDR4 3000| 500GB SSD
Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:
1.23.12.0
Some streamers managed to capture a video.
Also, how come the lightning is shooting from such lousy shallow cumulus clouds? There’s no cumulonimbus around.
Lightning and weather sure needs an overhaul.
I never knew this was a thing until I just saw it today. I had no idea what it was at first. I did not suspect lightening because I’m at 38,000 feet, and there are no rain clouds or weather anywhere near me, but yep, it happened several times.
The devs have been unable to reproduce this using the above information. If you aren’t experiencing this anymore in the latest build, feel free to post here, but if you are, if there are any specifics you can share further to help test this, you can share here also. I will leave this report open for now. Thanks!
Jummi. I believe they were unable to reproduce because the simulator itself has already been months and cannot reproduce the lightning in real weather (online). You can see in a thread that this has been discussed for quite some time. I myself have been flying over large masses of heavy clouds for months now, which in real life indicate a lightning storm and which MSFS is no longer able to generate/reproduce. So I suggest that the devs review why the lightning is gone. Thank you very much!
