Limited Collector's Edition INSIDE the USA

50 USD shipping charge on SEP 19th.

Just got a shipping notification at 2338Z/19NOV that my package is going from Salt Lake City to Colorado Springs VIA USPS GROUND ADVANTAGE!?! WUT???:exploding_head:

I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and sent a ticket in asking them to review and get back to me because obviously that service does not come anywhere near 50 USD for that distance.

I think this is the final nail in the coffin for Aerosoft with me if they really don’t offer a credit on this.

While I agree with you this is an Aerosoft issue, Aerosoft isn’t the one who issued the keys and tokens to the EU buyers. There is a solution here for US buyers that Microsoft can offer, even if it is just a public apology and basically throwing Aerosoft under the PR bus at this point I’d be happy.

Good point. In that regard, it was good to notify Microsoft of the issue. But not to expect them to fix it, unless offering the tokens like EU users got is “fixing it”. But, the support line won’t give the answer that’s what you might get. But, notifying them like you did may push the issue to the people who can fix it like that. It’ll likely take some days for that result to follow through given Aerosoft obviously told Microsoft that shipments in the U.S. wouldn’t be “delayed”. Microsoft can only act on information they’re aware of. Only Microsoft, however, knows what date Aerosoft was contracted to ship by, and what the terms were.

Aerosoft’s contract says to click on your order to see what the shipment terms were. Unfortunately, I apparently ordered using a different email address than my Aerosoft login is, so my order doesn’t show up in my Orders, so there’s no way for me to check when shipment was originally promised. I could swear, however, that it was said they’d ship in time to arrive by the 19th, not that they would ship on the 19th.

That’s the goal, honestly don’t expect the person who answers the emails initially to be on the level to be able to offer a solution themselves but I did ask them to push it up the chain if they could.

I’ve already tried to submit something with big M about 3pm CST to at least see if they were aware of the US Shipping issue.
TheTicket/Helpdesk submission system is (on first attempt) “down for maintence” Then (Second attem about 25 Min later) " an error occured while processing your ticket, please try again later"…
Tried 3 different times over a 1 hour span with no luck so Big M is a no go until they can get the server issues sorted is my guess.

I know everyone here is hurting, and I certainly can understand it, as I’m one of the aggrieved parties, too, but after today’s launch, suddenly I don’t feel sooo bad, and I am more content to wait out delivery now. It’s not like I would have been able to use it if it did show up.

Here’s a post from another thread on this forum that details what Aerosoft said about shipping and delivery dates.

I’ve sent a message to the Aerosoft US shop support email (info@aerosoft.com, according to the website) with my order number, asking them to clarify whether they’re going to try to make us whole and if so how - via a credit, or, easier for them, by providing us with a digital game pass, same as they’re doing with European customers, so that we can at least log in and start flying (yes, assuming it’s possible to download but that’s another story about another fiasco).

I’ll report if they get back to me but I’m not exactly holding my breath.

I guess the next option will be to dispute the charge with my credit card issuer.

Fun!

You know, that’s a good point. Would a dispute cover the promise to have the pre-order delivered in a timely manner or can they weasel out of this by claiming they only promised to ship and we received the product.

Hard to say. The credit card companies usually want to see that you tried to work it out with the merchant. So part of it will depend on whether Aerosoft responds and what they say. Then it comes down to the timeframe. A short “routine” delay of a day or two probably won’t be enough for a dispute. But if, say, a week has gone by… or maybe less than that, but without an Aerosoft response… then it’s worth a shot. The other side of the coin is that for small amounts (and $259.99 counts as a small amount in this context), the big credit card companies like Amex will often just issue you the credit and then work it out with the merchant on the back end. It’s worth it to them to keep their customers happy.

So… might be an avenue to explore. But it’s still too early to be sure.

Having it not even be processed yet, it will probably be a while.

i lodged a formal dispute through Paypal since that is the avenue i used when i purchased my copy on Sept 21. just now. Although its definitly to late for launch day shenanagins and the joys of day one havoc. Maybe with Paypal turning some screws, I might get somewhere seeing as my tickets to Aerosoft never (not joking either 5 different times with 0 replies for everything from billing to product key issue) get answered.

Update: Just NOW got my shipping notification from Aerosoft, course there is no tracking data yet as it is just “the label has been created”

Thanks! I knew I saw it somewhere. That’s one of the things that got me to order it in the first place.

I was just looking at my FSX box and my FS2004 box and my Microsoft Flight Simulator for Apple Macintosh spiral-bound manual… and I thought, well, a physical package, that’ll be nice to have. And the airplane model would be pretty costly on its own, but as part of the package… so…

In other words, I got carried away and let my judgment lapse.

Won’t make that mistake again.

I think the “mistake” was in trusting Aerosoft to follow through on their words. Not in your choice to get the bling. Best Buy delivered, as I imagine did many other vendors.

But, yes, I won’t be frequenting that vendor again… not that I have since 2020 came out given their behaviour since it came out. Very different company since their early FSX days.

Agree. I’ve got a long gap in my Aerosoft order history. Used to be a regular customer and forum member. It’s not news anymore, but sometimes I’m still surprised how far they’ve fallen.

Honestly I think the Steelbook premium edition is the way to go. Same price as the digital copy with a tangible cd case to put on a shelf. Just got mine an hour ago, pretty nice!

That might be my Plan B.

I’ll take a picture of it irl and send it later if you’d like. It’s a standard steelbook case but thicker. Inside is a nice lanyard with a pleather business card holder containing a card with the key to the game.

Thanks. Would be interested to see it.

As to the AN-225 model - it’s easy enough to buy that separately.
